Baltimore Orioles ML (+120) over Toronto Blue Jays

To start off our mega parlay, we’re going with the Orioles on the money line. Baltimore has already exceeded its preseason expectations at this point, but the Orioles are out to prove that their 29-16 record isn’t a fluke. Grayson Rodriguez will get the ball and while he has struggled in his rookie season (6.57 ERA), there is reason for optimism as Rodriguez has terrific stuff and an xERA of 5.49, suggesting that there is room for positive regression. On the other side, the Blue Jays will send out the struggling Alek Manoah, who is coming off a pair of poor outings, allowing a combined 8 runs over his last 8.2 IP. Furthermore, his season-long metrics still reveal an xERA of 7.00 — one of the worst in the majors — so there is reason to be skeptical about Manoah’s effectiveness against this Baltimore lineup.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs St. Louis Cardinals Over 9 (-120)

For the second leg of this parlay, I’m going with the over in the Dodgers vs Cardinals matchup. This one simply boils down to the starting pitching matchup. Noah Syndergaard holds a 5.94 ERA through 8 starts with the Dodgers, and it’s clear that the veteran starter isn’t missing many bats over the first 2 months of the season. Look for that to continue against a Cardinals lineup that has very good numbers off Syndergaard, especially Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado. In the same vein, Miles Mikolas has been disappointing this season in his own right. His 5.75 xERA and poor advanced metrics across the board don’t suggest that any sort of positive regression is coming, so I’d expected another strong effort from the Dodgers offense in this one. Both teams should have no trouble pushing runs across.

New York Mets -1.5 (+125) over Cleveland Guardians

For the final leg in this mega parlay, I’m going with the Mets on the run line. Outside of a pair of poor outlier performances against the Tigers and Brewers, Max Scherzer has been his usual consistent self on the mound and he’ll get the ball on Saturday for New York. The bigger story for the Mets was the breakthrough of their offense for 10 runs on Friday in a victory. New York now has 26 runs over its last 4 games, so there is reason for optimism regarding the Mets offense going forward. Against young right-hander Tanner Bibee, New York should give Scherzer a lead and do enough against the Guardians bullpen to close the door in a victory by at least 2 runs.
