The MLB season is officially in full swing, and it’s been long enough for us to more or less know where things stand. We have a nice small slate on Monday, and we’ve got a fun NL West rivalry clash here between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres. It should be a great one, broadcasted by ESPN.

What better way to celebrate a nationally televised game than by betting a same game parlay? We’ve also got thoughts on the side and total, which you can find out in our full game preview.

I just cashed my most recent MLB same game parlay at 10/1 odds, let’s make it two in a row!

San Diego Padres -2.5 (+250)

Yu Darvish over 7.5 strikeouts (+134)

No score first inning (-160)

Parlay odds: +1169

We have a three-leg parlay here, one which pays out just north of 11/1 with FanDuel Sportsbook. Let’s break it down:

San Diego Padres -2.5 (+250)

The Padres are starting to pick up steam again. They had slipped for a while, but enter this one off four straight wins after sweeping the Reds. Most importantly, they’re starting Darvish here, who has been dominant this season. He enters with a 2.57 ERA, and that’s even after having a rough start (at Coors Field) in his most recent outing. It might not surprise you to learn the Padres are 11-3 in his 14 starts this year.

The last time he faced the Dodgers, San Diego won 6-1. Dodgers starter Julio Urias has been far from dominant with his 3.54 ERA, and he’s been shaky lately. Over his last four starts, he’s given up 27 hits in only 21 and 2/3 innings. Three of the Dodgers’ last four series’ have been against the Diamondbacks, Rangers, and Pirates, some of the worst teams in the league. As such, this step up in competition could come as a shock to their system in the series opener. The Padres are trending in the right direction, and I’m riding them here.

Yu Darvish over 7.5 strikeouts (+134)

These plays correlate heavily. If the Padres are going to cover a -2.5 alternate run line, they’re going to need a great effort from Darvish. Like I just mentioned he’s been fantastic, and has sky-high strikeout upside. He’s gotten to at least eight punch-outs in six of his past 11 starts, so getting this much plus-money feels like a steal. He’s started against the Dodgers twice already this season, and he struck out nine batters both times. In those two starts, he gave up only five hits and two runs across 14 innings.

No score first inning (-160)

I’ve already detailed why I’m expecting a strong performance from Darvish. He’s completely shutdown the Dodgers twice already this season, so I don’t see them scoring in the first inning. Urias hasn’t been his best lately but he’s still a very good pitcher, and the Padres’ lineup hasn’t been lighting the world on fire lately. The total in this game is only seven, and with another potential gem from Darvish, we won’t need too many runs from the Padres for them to cover the -2.5.
