It should be a beautiful Wednesday afternoon for baseball in San Diego as Joe Musgrove, who threw the first of five no-hitters so far in 2021, leads the Padres against the lowly Colorado Rockies. This should be a fun game to watch – any time Rockies starter Chi Chi Gonzalez gets the ball, it’s a guarantee there will be lots of baseballs put in play. We’ve created a three-leg same-game parlay that you can currently play at FanDuel Sportsbook with odds of +1102, but make sure you also check out our picks on the side and total for the rest of the day’s games.
Padres -2.5 alternate run line (+124)
Jake Cronenworth 2 or more hits (+210)
Joe Musgrove over 7.5 strikeouts (+108)
Parlay odds: +1102
The great thing about a same-game parlay is that you can choose different props that correlate with one another to help achieve the entire parlay. Let’s break this down one by one.
Padres -2.5 alternate run line (+124)
The Rockies, despite their 13-12 record at home, have the worst winning percentage in baseball. They’ve been awful away from Coors Field, winning just two of their 18 games on the road, and their offense has been completely nonexistent away from the altitude of Colorado. Joe Musgrove, who’s pitched well in his first season with his hometown Padres, should handle the Colorado lineup with ease. The Padres won’t need to score a ton of runs to cover this alternate run line.

Jake Cronenworth 2 or more hits (+210)
Cronenworth is the Padres’ hottest hitter right now. He’s hit in 12 of his last 13 games, with seven multi-hit games in that span, including three of his last four. His batting average has gone up from .255 to a team-leading .306 in that stretch, and he’s established himself as a legitimate All-Star contender at second base in the National League. Facing Gonzalez, a pitcher who has given up more than twice as many hits as strikeouts this year, you have to like the matchup for the left-handed hitting Cronenworth against a righty who pitches to contact.
Joe Musgrove over 7.5 strikeouts (+108)
The Rockies just can’t seem to hit away from Coors Field. The team struck out 18 times on Tuesday, continuing a trend that they haven’t been able to break all season. Musgrove certainly strikes out hitters at high enough of a rate to be able to hit this total – he’s punched out 59 in just 44 innings this year and has recorded eight or more each time he’s completed at least six innings. You have to believe he’ll be able to go at least that deep at home against a struggling Colorado lineup. Take the over on his strikeouts.
