The Padres have shocked the baseball world, as they are one win away from eliminating the World Series favorites for nearly the entire regular season, the Los Angeles Dodgers. They will have the chance to close out the series in their home park, and they have Joe Musgrove on the mound for them. But the Dodgers aren’t done just yet as they’ve elected to start the lefty Tyler Anderson. This should be a good one, so we made a +550 Same Game Parlay!

Under 6.5 (+135)
The Padres have pushed the Dodgers to the brink of elimination. Who would have thought? San Diego has elected to start Wild Card hero, or potential cheater based on who you root for, for Game 4 of this series. Joe Musgrove produced a dominant performance in Game 3 of the wild-card round against the Mets as he threw 7 scoreless innings and allowed only 1 hit. However, the talk of the night was Musgrove’s shiny ears, which became so prevalent that the Mets asked the umpires to do a substance check. Musgrove was clean, and he continued to shut out the Mets lineup. That excellent wild-card performance wasn’t random, as Musgrove has been surging for weeks now as he has allowed only 1 run in his last 5 starts, which have spanned 29.0 innings. One of those starts came against the Dodgers, and Musgrove threw 5.0 scoreless innings and allowed only 4 hits while recording 8 strikeouts.
His offense will likely have a tough time supporting him because the San Diego offense ranked 18th in OPS against left-handed pitching in the regular season. They will have to face Tyler Anderson, who compiled a 1.88 ERA in 4 starts against the Padres in 2022. This should be a very low-scoring game, so take the alternate total to maximize the payout.

Freddie Freeman 2+ total bases (+125)
It has been a relatively slow postseason for Freeman, who is 2-for-10, but he gets the opportunity to be a hero for the Dodgers in Game 4. Freeman has been one of the few Los Angeles hitters who have enjoyed success against Musgrove. The first baseman is 8-for-21 (.381) with a .528 xSLG in his career against the Padres starter. And since Freeman is a lefty, he has the advantage of facing the right-handed pitcher. In the regular season he hit .338 with a .956 OPS against right-handed pitching compared to .294 with a .824 OPS against southpaws. This is an excellent matchup for the veteran, so I’ll back him to lead the way for the Dodgers as they attempt to stave off elimination.
