Could it be a World Series sweep? The Dodgers have a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Yankees and have the opportunity to win the World Series in New York tonight. The Yankees are sending Luis Gil to the mound in hopes of turning things around, but is he going to be able to contain the Dodgers’ red-hot offense? Here’s my best Dodgers vs Yankees player prop bet for Game 4 of the World Series, while you can also find out our MLB picks on the side and total for today’s matchup.

Luis Gil (NYY) Over 3.5 Hits Allowed (-110)

It’s win-or-go-home for the Yankees and they are turning to Luis Gil in Game 4. Gil was an important part of New York’s rotation in the regular season, but he lost his spot in the postseason rotation to Clarke Schmidt which is why he’s appeared only once in October. That one outing was against the Guardians in the ALCS and Gil allowed 2 runs, 3 hits and 3 walks in 4 innings of work. His control didn’t look great and it might have been because it was his first postseason appearance, but the lights are going to be even brighter tonight in this must-win game at Yankee Stadium. Gil will take on a Dodgers offense that has been fantastic in the postseason and has hit every New York pitcher thrown at them.

Fortunately for the Dodgers, this won’t be their first time facing Gil in 2024. The 26-year-old appeared against the Dodgers back in June and he allowed 3 runs, 5 hits and 1 home run in 5.2 innings pitched. He certainly won’t have as long of a leash this time around, but based on his outs recorded prop, he’s expected to pitch around 4 innings. That is more than enough time for the Los Angeles lineup to get 4 hits against him. Gil is a fastball-first pitcher that will mix in the slider and change-up when needed, but his bread and butter is his four-seam fastball. Unfortunately for him, the Dodgers were one of the best teams in the regular season against fastballs. I’m backing the Dodgers’ lineup to stay hot and tag Gil for at least 4 hits.
