It’s ALDS Game 4 day with Guardians vs Tigers in Detroit and Yankees vs Royals in Kansas City today. The Tigers have jumped out to a 2-1 series lead and the Yankees have the same lead over the Royals, so both teams have the chance to advance to the ALCS with a win today. I’ve found my best MLB player prop bet in tonight’s Yankees vs Royals game, so let’s get into it! You can also find out our MLB picks for each matchup, with our experts currently on a 31-16 run!

It’s a pivotal matchup in Kansas City tonight as the Yankees can advance to the ALCS with a win over Michael Wacha and the Royals. However, I’m interested in a different market. Gerrit Cole has been announced as the starting pitcher and he will make his second appearance in this series. He was the Game 1 starter and got roughed up by the Royals for 3 runs, 7 hits, and 2 walks in 5 innings. Cole will get his shot at revenge tonight, but I’m not expecting him to have a long leash. The Royals have hit Cole hard in their careers as Maikel Garcia, Tommy Pham, Bobby Witt Jr., Salvador Perez and MJ Melendez are a combined 25-for-78 (.321) against the Yankees ace.

He only made it 5 innings in Game 1 and it’s clear that Aaron Boone is going to go to his relievers at the first sign of trouble. Carlos Rodon went just 3.2 innings in Game 2 and Clarke Schmidt completed only 4.2 innings last night. Boone knows that he has Jake Cousins, Tim Hill and Ian Hamilton rested and ready to bridge the gap between Cole and Luke Weaver when the time is needed. For this bet to win, Cole will need to complete 5.2 innings or less and I would surprised if he comes out to pitch the 6th.
