We’re down to 8 teams left in October. It doesn’t get much better than multiple division rivals going head-to-head in the postseason. Below are my best MLB player prop bets for the Divisional Series Game 1 on Saturday. You can also find out our experts’ MLB picks for today’s big matchup as well as EVERY game throughout the MLB postseason.

Detroit Tigers under 3.5 runs (-143)

Odds available at Caesars Sportsbook at time of publishing.

It’s no fun fading what seems to be everybody’s favorite team left in the postseason, but they’ve found their way on my betting card. The Tigers will be matched up against Guardians starter Tanner Bibee and his 3.80 xERA. But he was extremely sharp in September. He held batters to a .209 batting average and a 25% strikeout rate during that span. After Bibee, the ball will be handed off to arguably the best bullpen in the league. They ranked in the top 5 in ERA, WHIP, and strikeouts. With two division rivals going at it this late in the season, I’m willing to back one of the best pitching staffs in baseball against a team they’ve seen plenty of this season.

Dylan Cease (Padres) over 4.5 strikeouts (-130)

Odds available at BetMGM Sportsbook at time of publishing.

The San Diego Padres are hoping to get five innings from Dylan Cease tonight against one of the stoutest offenses in baseball. But the Dodgers are susceptible to striking out – mainly depending on who they have at the bottom of the lineup.

The top of the lineup won’t change. They have 3 MVPs at the top, while the bottom of the order consists of Will Smith, Tommy Edman, Gavin Lux, and Miguel Rojas – in some order. If Cease can find at least 2-3 K’s from the bottom of the order, he should be able to reach this number. Over his career, Cease holds a 29.4 strikeout rate to Shohei Ohtani, 33% to Mookie Betts, 45% to Teoscar Hernadez, and 33% to Max Muncy.
