The League Championship Series is here! The Dodgers are out to a 1-0 lead after a dismantling of the Mets in Game 1. Meanwhile, the Yankees will begin their pennant chase with Carlos Rodon on the mound. You can also find out our experts’ MLB picks for today’s big matchups as well as EVERY game throughout the MLB postseason, but for now, let’s dive into my best MLB player prop bets for Guardians vs Yankees and Mets vs Dodgers, we’re I’ve unearthed FIVE picks to target.

Shohei Ohtani (LAD) over 1.5 hits+runs+RBIs (-115)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

A 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBIs line for the best hitter in the game in a playoff matchup? Sign me up. Shohei Ohtani exploded on the scene last night in Game 1 with 2 hits and an RBI. All 4 balls he hit in play were hit at least 90 mph off the bat, including 2 hits that registered 102 and 116 mph. Sean Manaea will be a great test for these Dodgers hitters. He’s pitching the best ball of his career as he’s reinvented himself in his first season with the New York Mets and 4th team in 4 years. Nonetheless, he still has struggles on the road. That’s where the Dodgers can get to him. His base-on-balls percentage is 10%, with an on-base percentage of .303 when playing away from Citi Field. Along with his road struggles, he has worse splits against left-handed hitters — the side Ohtani can capitalize from.

Mookie Betts (LAD) over 1.5 hits+runs+RBIs (-115)

Odds available at Bet365 at time of publishing.

Call me a fool for backing Mookie Betts and Ohtani after they both went hitless in Game 5 of the NLDS when we backed them. But they both led the charge in Game 1 last night. Betts ripped a 3-RBI double in the 8th inning to seal the win while scoring a run in the 1st inning after drawing a walk. He’ll be tested by Manaea, who he’s faced off against for many years dating back to 2016. Betts has not had success against Manaea in quite some time, but the familiarity should be key. He’ll most likely get 2-3 at-bats against Manaea and then hand it to the bullpen, which looks gassed from this long postseason run.

Sean Manaea (Mets) over 1.5 Walks (-105)

Odds available at Bet365 Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Yes, my third bet for this Game 2 duel between the Mets and Dodgers. I’m on full fade of Sean Manaea — particularly his walks. He has struggled with command away from Citi Field, issuing at least 2 walks in 11 of 17 starts. He’ll now be tested against a Dodgers lineup that saw 85 pitches through 5 innings last night while swinging at just 6 pitches out of the strike zone.

Jose Ramirez (Guardians) over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (-125)

Odds available at Bet365 Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Let’s finally turn our attention to Game 1 of the ALCS between the New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians. Jose Ramirez has been a staple in this Guardians lineup for years. He’s one of the most feared switch hitters in baseball and now gets a matchup against Carlos Rodon, who he has seen plenty of in his career. Ramirez will get the luxury of hitting from the right side, where he’s hitting .348. At a price of -125, this feels like a no-brainer to me — especially on the road, where he’s guaranteed at least nine innings.

Cleveland Guardians over 2.5 runs (-150)

Odds available at Bet365 Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Bet365 is offering a generous price of -150 for the Guardians to score at least 3 runs. By comparison, FanDuel and BetMGM are down to -185 and -188. After striking out the side in the 1st inning against the Royals in the ALCS, Carlos Rodon then gave up 7 hits and 4 earned runs in 3+ innings. That was against a Royals offense that has struggled for the last month. The Guardians, on the other hand, come in winners of 2 straight games to get to the ALCS and scored 12 runs over those 2 wins to finish off the Detroit Tigers.
