Atlanta Braves -2.5 over Pittsburgh Pirates (+115)
This series is as uneven as it gets. The defending champs are once again heading towards another postseason journey while the Pirates sit at the bottom of the NL Central and hold one of the worst records in all of baseball. Kyle Wright will get the start for the Braves, and he’s had to face some of the best offenses in the league since the all-star break, but he still holds a 3.82 ERA since mid-July. He recently had two stellar performances against the Astros and Red Sox, and the Braves won those games 8-4 and 6-2, covering the -2.5 run line in both games.
The Pittsburgh offense has been miserable since the all-star break as they rank 29th in both OPS and wRC+ in the second half of the season, so the Braves should cruise to another big win.

San Francisco Giants vs Detroit Tigers under 6.5 runs (+150)
Pitching will be the story in this game as Logan Webb and Matt Manning will start for their teams. Webb has once again had a great season for the Giants and has been a great duo with Carlos Rodon. In his 11 starts on the road, Webb has a 3.33 ERA and has limited opponents to a .218 batting average. He will face a Tigers offense that has been the worst in baseball all season, but they’ve been especially bad since the all-star break. They rank 30th in OPS, OBP and wRC+ in the second half of the season as they average just 3.35 runs per game.
The Giants’ offense hasn’t been much better as they rank 22nd in OBP, OPS and wRC+ since the all-star break. The combination of two solid starters with two severely below-average offenses should create a low-scoring affair.

Texas Rangers ML vs Colorado Rockies (-125)
This game is a prime example of the Coors Field effect. The Rangers will have their ace Martin Perez on the mound while the Rockies will counter with Jose Urena, who has been one of the worst starters in baseball this season, yet Texas is barely favored. That’s because the Rockies go from 29th to 1st in runs per game when they’re away versus at home.
However, Colorado will have a hard time out-scoring the Rangers with Urena on the hill. The veteran has a 4.71 ERA matched with a 5.32 xERA through 57.2 innings this season, but his ERA spikes to 6.97 since the all-star break. In the small sample size the Rangers offense has against Urena, they have a .389 batting average and a .383 xBA in 24 plate appearances. Urena starting in the most hitter-friendly park in the league will only hurt his chances of a good outing, so back the Rangers at a great money line price.
