The Major League Baseball week concludes with a full 15-game slate on Sunday. It features two contests televised on ESPN, starting with Cubs vs Cardinals in London at 10:10 am ET and wrapping up with Sunday Night Baseball between the Astros and Dodgers. Meanwhile, the Mets are visiting the Phillies and the Braves are completing a big series against the Reds. On the whole, there are plenty of options with which to make a couple of YRFI/NRFI plays.
This market has become extremely popular in baseball betting. After all, you don’t have to sit around for 3 hours (or maybe a lot less now that games are not as long on average!) to see if your wager hits; the satisfaction (or in some cases disappointment) is immediate. It all comes down to the first inning.
Here are my best YRFI/NRFI bets for Sunday, and also be sure to check out all of our MLB picks.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs Miami Marlins: NRFI (-135)
When you see Eury Perez toeing the rubber for Miami, you immediately have to lean toward the under. Perez has been amazing since being called up in mid-May to make his major-league debut. He is 4-1 with a 1.54 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with 45 strikeouts and 14 walks in 41.0 innings. In 4 of his last 5 starts, Perez has not allowed a single run. In 8 career outings the 20-year-old has yet to surrender a first-inning run. The Pirates have never seen him, too, so that only adds to his advantage.
Johan Oviedo going for Pittsburgh gives you all the more reason to back the NRFI in this one. In his last 8 appearances, Oviedo has lowered his ERA from 5.58 to 4.30. The right-hander has put up goose eggs in the opening frame in 3 consecutive starts. Jon Berti (2) is the only Marlin who has had more than 1 hit against Oviedo and nobody on the Miami roster has ever delivered more than a single at his expense.

Milwaukee Brewers vs Cleveland Guardians: NRFI (-125)
Aaron Civale is getting this game started for the Guardians and you have to think the Brewers will draw a blank in the first inning — and perhaps in a lot of innings. Civale is 2-2 with a 2.67 ERA this season and through 4 June outings his ERA is 2.57. The right-hander has not allowed more than 2 runs in any start this month. He has surrendered a run in the opening frame only once in 6 appearances. Civale now faces a Milwaukee club that has scored 2 or fewer runs in 3 of its last 5 games, including just 1 run on 2 of those occasions.
The Brewers are countering with Corbin Burnes, who has been more inconsistent than usual this year but for the most part has been successful. Burnes’ ERA is under 4.00 and 3 of his last 4 starts have been quality. He has worked a scoreless opening frame in 3 of his 4 outings this month. The entire Cleveland lineup has combined for 3 hits lifetime off Burnes, zero of which have gone for extra bases.
