Baltimore Orioles vs New York Yankees: NRFI (-125)
For my first pick on Monday’s slate, I’m taking the NRFI in a matchup between the Orioles and Yankees. Following the first perfect game thrown in 11 years, what can Domingo German possibly do for an encore? Well, he certainly is due for some regression at this point, and that should come against a much better lineup in the Baltimore Orioles. However, I don’t see it happening in the first inning, as the top 4 hitters in the Orioles lineup are a combined 4-of-27 lifetime against German. The Yankees starter has pitched very well at home this season and I expect that to continue here.
German’s counterpart, Tyler Wells, has been extremely consistent of late, having surrendered 2 runs or less in each of his last 6 outings. Expect a quick opening frame in the Bronx on Monday.

Houston Astros vs Texas Rangers: YRFI (-110)
For my second pick on Monday’s card, I’m going with the YRFI in this massive AL West clash between the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers. This series has been controlled by the Astros thus far and this loaded Rangers lineup will be eager to get on the board first in hopes of evening this four-game set. As it stands, Cristian Javier has been struggling mightily for Houston of late, having surrendered 10 runs on 12 hits in his last 6.1 innings pitched. Javier’s xERA is over half a point higher than his actual ERA, so there is still room for some regression as well.
The same can be said for Texas starter Martin Perez, who ranks in the bottom 10 percentile of all starters in xBA and whiff rate. The YRFI has cashed in 2 of the first 3 games of this series and I expect us to see a similar outcome in Monday’s contest.
