The MLB season is officially in full swing, and it’s that special time of year when every team’s dreams are still alive. We’ve got a nice slate on Sunday, and the best game is this nightcap between the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers. A Sunday Night Baseball showdown between two NL West rivals.

What better way to celebrate this nationally televised (ESPN) showdown than by betting a same game parlay? We’ve also got thoughts on the side and total, which you can find out in our full game preview.

San Diego Padres -2.5 (+310)

Max Muncy to record 2+ hits (+430)

Parlay odds: +2846

We’ve got a simple two-leg parlay here, one which pays out north of 25/1 with FanDuel Sportsbook. We get a huge odds boost by combining a big Padres win with a big game from Muncy, when I don’t think it conflicts at all. Let me explain:

San Diego Padres -2.5 (+310)

The Padres have looked good in this series so far, taking two of the three games. On Friday they won 6-1, and I think they can pick up another multi-run win here. The Dodgers are pretty banged up right now, and their vaunted offense simply isn’t producing. They’ve been held to three runs or fewer in six of their last seven. As such, it’s the perfect time to fade them on an alt run line.

They certainly haven’t looked like the legendary unit they were supposed to. Fernando Tatis Jr. is on fire right now, and Dodgers starter Dustin May was shaky last time out. Padres starter Joe Musgrove on the other hand has been completely dominant.

Max Muncy to record 2+ hits (+430)

We get a big odds boost by combining this with the Padres -2.5, when I don’t really think they conflict. Muncy has seen Musgrove very well in his career, as he’s 5/9 with a couple of extra base hits and a couple of walks against him. Muncy has five games with multiple hits out of 20 total, so I think +430 has some standalone value. +430 is an implied win rate of 18.9 percent, and Muncy has had multiple hits in 25 percent of games so far. That’s not even factoring in the huge odds boost we get here. I think both teams’ bats will come alive here, and if we get a high scoring game this parlay has a great chance of cashing.
