The MLB season is officially in full swing, and it’s that special time of year when every team’s dreams are still alive. We’ve got a nice big slate on Monday, and one of the best games is this NL Central clash between the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers. The Cubs enter at 4-5, while the Brewers sit at 5-4.

What better way to make this nationally televised showdown even more entertaining than by betting a same game parlay? We’ve also got thoughts on the side and total, which you can find out in our full game preview.

Milwaukee Brewers -2.5 (+235)

Javier Baez to record 2+ hits (+260)

Parlay odds: +1440

Keeping things simple with a two-leg parlay here, one which pays out just shy of 15/1 with FanDuel Sportsbook. We get a huge odds boost by combining a big Brewers win with a big game from Baez, when I don’t think it conflicts at all. Let me explain:

Milwaukee Brewers -2.5 (+235)

The Cubs have played six of their nine games so far against the Pirates, who are widely expected to be one of if not the worst team in the league. Despite that, they’re just 4-5. They enter this one off back to back ugly losses to Pittsburgh, by a combined score of 15-3. Anthony Rizzo, Joc Pederson, Jason Heyward, Ian Happ etc. have all been unmitigated disasters. As a team, they’re hitting just .167.

I don’t think things will get much better here with Adbert Alzolay on the mound here. Alzolay has only seven big league starts under his belt, and he got roughed up when he faced this same Brewers lineup in his first 2021 outing. The Brewers will start the young and promising Freddy Peralta, who gave up no runs and only one hit in five innings when he faced the Cubs last week.

Javier Baez to record 2+ hits (+260)

We get a huge odds boost for combining this with the Brewers winning big, when I really don’t think it conflicts much at all. Baez getting a couple of hits here certainly won’t preclude Milwaukee from covering, especially considering how his teammates have been hitting recently. He’s been one of the long bright spots the past few games, as he has five hits and two home runs in their last three contests. In his most recent multi-hit game the Cubs still lost 8-2 to the Pirates, so the result we need here clearly wouldn’t be too unusual.
