The last game of the week is always Sunday Night Baseball, but this weekend is a little different. The Marlins and Dodgers were scheduled to have this slot before their matchup was moved to Saturday for a doubleheader. That means this NL East battle between the Phillies and Nationals has been flexed into the spot. I’ve crafted a 3-leg Same Game Parlay that pays out at over 7/1 odds at FanDuel Sportsbook, so let’s get into it!
Trea Turner 2+ bases (-105)
JT Realmuto 2+ bases (+100)
Alternate Under 10.5 (-225)
Same Game Parlay odds: +704

Trea Turner 2+ bases (-105)
It’s no secret that Trea Turner has been struggling this season. However, instead of letting Turner hear it and bring him down more, Phillies fans have stood by their $300+ million investment. In a very classy move, Phillies fans gave Turner a standing ovation in Philadelphia not too long ago. That one gesture has completely changed Turner’s month as he’s hitting .370 in the last 7 games and .351 in the last 15. And yesterday, he accomplished something nearly impossible — he hit 2 home runs in the same inning. The Phillies poured it on the Nats in the late innings yesterday as the Washington relievers were getting rocked by Philadelphia’s lineup, and that let Turner hit twice in the 8th inning. After Saturday’s game, Turner has recorded 2+ bases in 9 of his last 13 games. I’m backing him to stay hot against Trevor Williams, who Turner already has 3 home runs against in only 21 career at-bats.

JT Realmuto 2+ bases (+100)
The Phillies’ catcher has caught fire this week. JT Realmuto is 5 for his last 13, which includes 2 extra-base hits. He will face a familiar foe on Sunday night in Williams, and the advantage goes to Realmuto. In 12 career at-bats, Realmuto is 5-for-12 with 3 home runs and a double. Similarly to his teammate Turner, Realmuto has crushed Williams in his career. I’m expecting him to face Williams at least twice before the Washington bullpen comes into play, but as we have seen in this series, the Nats bullpen is not reliable. I’m expecting a quick start from the Phillies, and Turner and Realmuto should play a large role in the run production.

Alternate Total Under 10.5 (-225)
The game total for Sunday Night Baseball is 9.5, but I’m taking an alternate under to give myself some cushion. When creating a Same Game Parlay, it can be beneficial to add certain picks that don’t necessarily correlate with the others. For example, Turner and Realmuto both having 2+ bases would make you believe the game could be more high-scoring. For that reason, I’m taking an under, which technically goes against Turner and Realmuto getting on base several times. That increases the odds and gives us a better payout with only a 3-leg Same Game Parlay. The main reason for taking the under is Zack Wheeler, who is having an incredibly underrated season. Since the All-Star break, Wheeler has a 2.50 ERA, a 0.88 WHIP and has limited hitters to a .193 batting average. I’m expecting the Phillies to do most of the scoring and for this game to finish below 11 runs.
