The Braves have been on autopilot all season with really no issues, but the script has flipped a little bit over the last few days and they are now looking to snap a 4-game losing streak. The Phillies have been very hit-and-miss themselves recently at a time when they need wins more than the Braves do. As we head into late September, the two most recent NL champions are looking to peak to make a deep playoff run. We should see their best efforts on Tuesday.

Braves ML (-200)

There is no question who the better team is in this series. The Braves are the best team in baseball, but they have not played like it over the last week. Ultimately, it is difficult to see this team dropping 5 straight. Philadelphia’s win on Monday was just its second in the last 8 head-to-head matchups. The Braves should come out with a little extra effort to break out of this losing streak and keep that head-to-head domination rolling.

While Phillies starter Christopher Sanchez has shown well over the last month, the Braves appear to have the starting pitching advantage as Spencer Strider will get the start. At the ripe age of 24, Strider has been a certified ace in this league and he has feasted on the Phillies this season. In 3 starts against Philadelphia, Strider has allowed just 4 earned runs in 19 innings pitched while racking up 27 strikeouts. Look for the Braves to bounce back tonight.

Over 9.5 (+120)

High totals have been common for both the Phillies and Braves lately. In their respective last 10 games, the over is 13-7 in the combined 20 games. For the Braves, the over has hit in 11  of their last 14 games and in 5 out of their last 7. During their recent rough patch, Atlanta has been giving up runs in bunches. Even if Strider has another stellar outing, there is no guarantee the bullpen will shut down the Phillies.

The offenses in this game are strong enough to overcome good pitching. If Sanchez or Strider shows out, both of these offenses are capable of carrying a game over the total. The Phillies and Braves played a 4-game series last week in which the teams scored 48 total runs for an average game total of 12 runs. Offensive upside gives another over plenty of appeal.

Matt Olson 2+ total bases (+155)

If the Braves are going to break out of their 4-game losing streak, there is a good chance that Matt Olson will be part of it. He leads the best team in baseball in home runs with 52, in RBIs with 129, and in slugging at .610. He typically bats somewhere in the top 4 of the lineup between some combination of Ronald Acuna, Ozzie Albies, Austin Riley, Marcell Ozuna and Eddie Rosario. The opportunity for production should be there.

In last week’s series against the Phillies, Olson performed well to the tune of 5-15 with a double, 3 home runs, 7 RBIs, 3 walks, and 15 total bases. In yesterday’s loss, Olson went 1-3 with a walk. It is not like this is a guy who has struggled with the team lately and needs to break out. Olson has kept the status quo all season including recently and just continues to produce. A +155 price for 2+ total bases as part of this Same Game Parlay is great value.
