The All-Star break is officially a distant memory, and we’ve got full slates again. Why not celebrate the start of a new week by going for a big payday on Monday? That’s right; we’re back with another MLB mega parlay, this time a three-teamer with a payout north of 12/1, and we’re counting on the Reds to win big.
We’re going big and bold, so let’s not waste any more time. But before we dive in, don’t forget to check out our picks for the side and total on every MLB game, with our team of experts in red-hot form.
Toronto Blue Jays -1.5 (+140)
Cincinnati Reds -1.5 (+155)
San Diego Padres -1.5 (+120)
Parlay odds: +1246
Let’s break down each of the three legs one by one.
Toronto Blue Jays -1.5 (+140)
To start this mega parlay, we’ve got the Blue Jays on the run line. I like this play because Toronto starter Ross Stripling is being undervalued. Stripling was really good with the Dodgers from 2016-19, so I was surprised he was so bad to start the season. He was atrocious in April, but has since shaken it off and started to pitch pretty well. Entering his start on May 24th, his ERA was a whopping 7.20.
In nine starts since then, he’s lowered it to a respectable 4.34. In five June starts, it was 3.18. Red Sox starter Nick Pivetta, on the other hand, is headed in the opposite direction. Pivetta’s ERA was 3.16 in mid-May, and he’s been on a steady decline since. In six June starts, it was 5.40. When you throw in the fact that the Blue Jays are at home and have the highest OPS in all of baseball, there’s a lot to like.

Cincinnati Reds -1.5 (+155)
The Reds’ second half didn’t start the way they hoped with three straight losses to the Brewers. I’m not too concerned about that. For starters they’re playing the Mets, who just lost two of three to the Pirates and can’t hit anything. In fact the Mets have scored the second-fewest runs in MLB, ahead of only the Pirates. As such, Reds starter Vladimir Gutierrez shouldn’t have too much trouble. The rookie understandably has had a couple of rough starts, but in six of his nine big-league outings he’s given up only one or two runs.
Over his last two starts, both on the road, he’s allowed only three total runs. The Reds might have something with the young Cuban. New York is starting Jerad Eickhoff, who has a 4.97 ERA through three appearances. He didn’t pitch in the majors in 2020, and there’s a reason why. During his last stint in 2019, he had a 5.71 ERA with the Phillies. He’s a desperation option.

San Diego Padres -1.5 (+120)
To wrap up this mega parlay and hopefully bring us home we’ve got the Padres. San Diego’s offense is ridiculously hot, and they’ll have Yu Darvish on the mound. In their three-game weekend series against the Nationals, the Padres put up an absurd 41 runs, scoring at least seven each time. Darvish and his 1.00 WHIP likely won’t need that many here to cover -1.5.
He’s one of the best pitchers in the game, and is going up against Braves rookie Kyle Mueller, who has only 15 and 2/3 big-league innings under his belt. Having Mueller go out and make the fourth start of his career against this scorching Padres offense is a tough ask. Atlanta is also without star outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr now, so everything is shaping up nicely for San Diego.
