The week in Major League Baseball gets underway with 10 games on Monday’s schedule. It’s a second consecutive less-than-full slate, as Sunday featured only 12 games since 3 were moved up to Saturday in advance of Hurricane Hilary’s arrival on the West Coast. Nonetheless, there is plenty to work with as we try to come up with another winning parlay on the baseball diamond. The Pickswise experts have cashed 3 parlays in the last 3 days, so let’s keep the momentum going! Below is my MLB mega parlay for Monday, and also be sure to check out all of our MLB picks for today’s games.

Phillies -1.5 (+132)

Braves -1.5 (-110)

Red Sox ML (+115)

MLB parlay odds: +860

For this MLB parlay, we are going with 2 favorites on the run line and 1 underdog on the money line. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 over San Francisco Giants (+132)

The Giants have played a tough schedule of late, going up against Atlanta, Tampa Bay and Texas in consecutive series. They lost 2 out of 3 in each of those. Now San Francisco faces Philadelphia, and these 2 teams are neck-and-neck atop the National League wild-card race. The Phillies have a 2-game lead for the #1 spot and I expect that to reach 3 games by the conclusion of Monday night.

Aaron Nola is taking the mound for Philly, which hasn’t been entirely great news of late but in general is a good thing for the Phillies. Nola’s strikeout numbers have been consistently high and in his last outing it was 4 walks that cost him against the Blue Jays but he was otherwise effective during a 9-4 victory. The Giants are going with a bullpen day, which probably isn’t ideal since they also did the same on Sunday against the Braves. This should be a good opportunity for Philadelphia to win big.

Atlanta Braves -1.5 over New York Mets (-110)

For 2 teams that are of relatively similar talent levels on paper (at least until the Mets went on their trade-deadline fire sale), perhaps no team owns another like the Braves own the Mets. Atlanta has won 5 consecutive NL East titles, including last year when it came back from 10.5 games behind New York. Now the Braves currently lead the division by 13.5 games (and by 23 over the Mets) and they are 8-2 in the head-to-head matchup this season.

The Braves recently took 3 of 4 in New York and in their 3 victories the combined score was a humiliating 34-3. Now they get to face David Peterson, who is 3-7 with a 5.45 ERA and 1.65 WHIP. Atlanta is countering with Allan Winans, whose sample size is small but it’s so far so good for the 28-year-old rookie. He is 1-0 with a 1.59 ERA in addition to 14 strikeouts through 2 starts, which have spanned 11.1 innings. Even if Winans is merely good as opposed to dominant on Monday, his team should roll.

Boston Red Sox ML over Houston Astros (+115)

The Red Sox are coming off a 3-game sweep of the Yankees, while the Astros just got swept in a 3-game series against the Mariners. More good news for Boston is that James Paxton is taking the mound tonight. He is sporting a 3.34 ERA through 16 starts with a 7-3 record. Paxton has been solid in 2023 with a 3.40 xERA, 26.3 K% and a 6.5 BB%. He will be opposed by Cristian Javier, who has a 4.49 ERA through 23 starts. The right-hander has been horrible over the past 3 months, so an in-form Boston offense should be able to do plenty of damage against him. The Sox are 8-3 in their last 11 overall and 4-2 in their last 6 against the Astros, who are 2-5 in their last 7 overall and 1-4 in their last 5 at home. At plus money, Boston has stellar value.
