It’s already November, yet we’re still just at Game 3 of the World Series. Last night’s rain postponement has extended the MLB season that much longer, and we’re certainly not complaining. It’s already been an exciting series, and we’ve also already cashed a Same Game Parlay in Game 2. This will be the first game played in Philly, a city that has been going crazy with all of the sports going on right now. Let’s break down Game 3 and see if they’ll have reason to celebrate tonight. Along with this Same Game Parlay, be sure to check out our MLB analysis for all of the upcoming World Series action.

Houston Astros -1.5 (+135) over Philadelphia Phillies
The extra rest day granted to these teams is certain to have an impact as the series goes on. Most would argue that it provides an advantage for the Phillies, as they can now get Aaron Nola back on the mound sooner rather than later. While that may be true, it won’t be tonight. The only real difference that has been made is Philly starting Ranger Suarez rather than Noah Syndergaard for tonight’s Game 3. Because of that, we are taking a similar approach to the SGP we had put together for last night’s original matchup. In fact, we’re even more confident with the plays tonight.
The Astros have smashed left-handed pitching this season, and finished the regular season with the 2nd-best OPS against them. That average saw a significant boost less than a month ago when they faced Suarez. Houston got to him early and often, lighting him up for 5 runs in the 1st inning. They went on to win that game by a final of 10-0, easily covering the run line. Let’s also not forget that they’ve gotten off to 5-0 leads in each of the first 2 games. Although they had the extremely rare blown lead in Game 1, they reasserted their dominance in Game 2’s 5-2 win. The Astros are also keeping consistent with Lance McCullers Jr. on the mound. Houston has won each of his 2 postseason starts thus far, and that trend should continue tonight.

Jose Altuve 2+ total bases (+125)
We’re taking a similar approach that allowed us to hit that Game 2 SGP by taking another plus-money play so that we only need 2 legs to cash. We set up the same approach for our original Game 3 SGP last night, but with Kyle Tucker as the target. We’re switching gears to the Astros leadoff man instead.
Altuve has not had the best postseason this year, but he’s still a hitter known to come through in the clutch. That’s exactly what he did in Game 2, as well as against Suarez less than a month ago. He’s the one who got the scoring started in that 10-0 rout against the Phillies, and he went 2-for-2 with a double. Per usual, Altuve proved he can hit this prop with either multiple hits or a single swing. We’ve also pivoted to Altuve due to his success against lefties. He’s hitting .336 against them with a ridiculous .657 slugging percentage. He found his swing again in Game 2 with 3 hits and a double, so expect him to keep that momentum rolling into Game 3 tonight.
