The All-Star break is officially a distant memory, and we’ve got full slates again. Why not celebrate the start of the weekend by going for a big payday on Friday? That’s right; we’re back with another MLB mega parlay, this time a three-teamer with a payout north of 14/1, and we’re counting on the Mets to win big.

We’re going big and bold, so let’s not waste any more time. But before we dive in, don’t forget to check out our picks for the side and total on every MLB game, with our team of experts in red-hot form.

St. Louis Cardinals -1.5 (+210)

New York Mets -1.5 (+180)

Houston Astros -1.5 (-125)

Parlay odds: +1462

Let’s break down each of the three legs one by one.

St. Louis Cardinals -1.5 over Cincinnati Reds (+210)

The Cardinals shouldn’t be this big of an underdog. St. Louis is starting to pick up some steam, and they’ve won five of their past six games. Cincinnati on the other hand has been a mess since the break, getting swept by the Brewers and losing two of three to the Mets. Reds starter Tyler Mahle has declined sharply after a hot start, and has given up at least three earned runs in four of his past five starts.

Cincinnati lost all four of those games, each by multiple runs. The Cardinals will send Wade LeBlanc to the mound, and in three July starts he had a 2.63 ERA. The veteran southpaw has been a pleasant surprise, and the Reds have hit much worse against lefties this year. Cincinnati’s team OPS drops from .754 to .687 against left-handed pitching. Getting the Cardinals at greater than 2/1 with the -1.5 is too good to pass up.

New York Mets -1.5 over Toronto Blue Jays (+180)

Ride ’em while they’re hot. After looking like one of the worst units in the league the first half of the season, the Mets’ offense has suddenly come alive since the break. In four of their past five games, the Mets have scored at least seven runs. New York also has extremely stark home/road splits. They’re just 22-29 on the road, but are a stellar 28-14 at home.

Mets rookie Tylor Megill had been great through his first five big league starts, entering with a 2.63 ERA. It’s just 1.23 over his last three outings. New York has won four of Megill’s five starts, and with the offensive upside they’ve been showing recently, they make a lot of sense on the run line. The Blue Jays will start Steven Matz, who has been highly mediocre with a 4.43 ERA and 1.33 WHIP.

Houston Astros -1.5 over Texas Rangers (-125)

To wrap this mega parlay up and hopefully bring us home, we’ve got the Astros on the run line as well. Texas overachieved the first month and a half, and they’ve been arguably the worst team in the majors ever since. They’ve lost nine games in a row, and there aren’t too many reasons for optimism. The Rangers will start Kolby Allard here, who has made nine starts this season. Texas is 1-8 in those games.

They’ve also scored two runs or fewer in seven of their past eight. Houston on the other hand has the second-best OPS in the league, so they’re exactly the kind of team you want to back on the run line. Texas is exactly the type of team you want to fade on the run line. Astros starter Jake Odorizzi has given up only seven total earned runs in his past six starts.
