We have a full 15-game slate to begin the weekend in Major League Baseball on Friday night. The Yankees, Astros, Dodgers and Giants are the hottest teams in baseball and one of them is part of today’s mega parlay. Let’s take a look.
Brewers -1.5 (+125)
Guardians ML (+140)
Yankees -1.5 (+105)
Parlay odds: +1007
For this parlay we are going with two favorites on the run line and one underdog on the money line. Let’s break down each of the three legs one by one.
Brewers -1.5 over Marlins (+125)
The Marlins were just taken down rather easily by a Diamondbacks team that was not expected to perform well this season. Miami has now lost 2 series to Arizona this month and was swept in the previous one. There is no denying that the Marlins boast one of the best starting rotations on paper, but recently they and the bullpen have taken turns letting them down. They now have Pablo Lopez on the mound to face Corbin Burnes. Lopez has been good so far in 2022, but Burnes has been great. The Brewers come in with the second-best OPS in the league and just had Christian Yelich hit for the cycle on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Marlins entered the season with lineup concerns, having got rid of Starling Marte, and they have scored 31 fewer runs than Milwaukee.

Guardians ML over Twins (+140)
The Guardians had the benefit of an off day on Thursday. They have been hot over the past week, going 5-2 and are looking at an opportunity to make up some ground in the division. The Twins are entering atop the AL Central despite getting swept by the Astros in their previous series and having gone 6-5 in May. They are going with Sonny Gray, who has been decent through 3 starts, posting a 3.48 ERA over 10.1 innings. Gray threw only 4.0 innings in his last start, and they may still be easing him back after suffering a right hamstring strain in his second appearance. Both bullpens rank in the top 10 in ERA, but the Guardians probably have the advantage given an off day Thursday while the Twins are coming off a doubleheader. There is value siding with Cleveland in this game.

Yankees -1.5 over White Sox (+105)
It’s clear the Yankees are more focused on this second game of the series rather than yesterday’s series opener. They had Luis Gil making his season debut after struggling in Triple-A on Thursday night, but on Friday night they will have ace Gerrit Cole on the mound. Cole has continued to prove he’s dominant against anyone outside of the Red Sox. He delivered another outing lasting more than 6.0 innings and got to double-digit strikeouts his last time out. He still throws his 4-seamer nearly half the time, but with the second-best average velocity in the league, it’s working out just fine. While Chicago is having trouble with Cole’s spin rate that ranks 4th in the league, the Yankees’ lineup should be providing run support against Vince Velasquez. He got a win in his last start but struck out just 2 hitters in 5.0 innings. Allowing frequent contact to power hitters like Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton can get disastrous quickly. Their bats have been a primary factor in the Yankees winning 15 of their last 17 and taking an early lead in one of the best divisions in baseball.
