The New York offense is hot. They rank 1st in batting average and OPS in the last 7 days. They have scored 37 runs in their last 4 games and their entire lineup has been producing. They have covered the run line in 7 of their last 8 wins and against Kris Bubic, that streak should continue. Back the Yankees to cover the run line and beat the Royals by multiple runs.
Nestor Cortes over 5.5 strikeouts (+118)
This line is baffling as Cortes has recorded 8 and 12 strikeouts in his last 2 starts. He will face a Kanas City lineup that has been terrible against southpaws in 2022 as the Royals rank 28th in batting average and 29th in OPS against left-handed pitching. With the Kansas City’s lack of offense recently, Cortes should not be knocked out of this game early on. That will keep him in the game for a while, similarly to his last start when he went 6.1 innings against the Guardians. Back Cortes to record at least 6 strikeouts.

The under has hit in 2 of Cortes’ 3 starts and the games always seem to be low scoring when he’s on the mound. In his 3 outings, the games have combined for an averaged of 6 runs. The wind will be slightly concerning since there will be 15 MPH winds blowing out towards left field. However, only 2 of the Royals 10 games at home have gone over the total. Pitching will be the story of this game, so take the under 8.5 in Kansas City.
