Detroit Tigers ML over Cleveland Guardians & Under 7.5 (+425) [Game 1]

The Tigers vs Guardians game from Thursday night was postponed so there is a doubleheader on Friday. If you are interested in this MLB mega parlay, make sure you select Game 1 on your betting app. The Guardians are 6-12 in their last 18 games and have not won a series in their past 6 series. They now face a Tigers team that has had their number this season. The Tigers have won 6 of the last 9 head-to-head games against the Guardians, as well as 4 of the last 6 played against the Guardians on the road in Cleveland. Detroit is a respectable 7-7 in August considering they only played 2 games against a team with a losing record. Things look a bit better for the Tigers right now.

The total has gone under in 5 of the Tigers’ last 6 games and in 4 of their last 5 on the road. The under has also hit in 13 of the Guardians’ last 18 games, in their last 5 consecutive games at home and in 5 of their last 6 against the Tigers. In their respective last 10 games, the combined over-under record of these teams is 7-13 in those combined 20 games including 1-9 combining Guardians home games and Tigers road games. Cleveland home games and Detroit road games combine for an over-under record on the season of 48-70-2. The under always has a good look when these teams are in play, let alone playing against each other. Expect Game 1 of this doubleheader to be low scoring.

San Francisco Giants vs Atlanta Braves Under 8.5 (+102)

These teams have seen different game totals trends over the past few weeks. The under has been rolling for the Giants and the over has been rolling for the Braves. What makes the under look more appealing in this one is the pitching matchup. Alex Cobb will start for the Giants and Spencer Strider will get the start for the Braves. Less than a month ago, Cobb’s ERA was under 3, which has inflated since primarily due to two consecutive bad starts entering this game. Alex Cobb has pitched plenty of big games in his career and facing the best team in baseball while being in a playoff race definitely qualifies as a big game. Look for Cobb to come out with a chip on his shoulder to get back on track.

Spencer Strider has been more up and down than he would probably prefer this season. But his upside is still as high as any pitcher in baseball. He has had one ugly start in his last 4 outings, but in the other 3 games, Strider allowed just 3 runs in 20 innings pitched with 25 strikeouts. Strider now faces a Giants team that ranks 20th in baseball in runs scored. He will do his part in keeping this game to a low total. The Giants’ lack of offense is the primary reason that their over-under record is 50-68-3 this season including 27-30-1 on the road, as well as in 13 of their last 18 games. Friday’s matchup against Spencer Strider and the Braves looks good to reinforce those trends.
