The week in Major League Baseball continues with a more than full 16-game slate on Friday. That’s because the Cubs and Reds are playing a doubleheader, with the opener starting at 1:10 pm ET. Friday’s nightcap is game 2 of a huge series between the Braves and Dodgers.
Below is my mega parlay for Friday, and also be sure to check out all of our MLB picks.
Marlins -1.5 (+102)
Phillies -1.5 (+150)
Dodgers ML (+108)

Marlins -1.5 over Nationals (+102)
This is the second game of this National League East series after Miami dominated the first one 6-1, thanks in part to a Jazz Chisolm Jr. 3-run homer. Whereas the Marlins still have postseason hopes, the Nationals have nothing of the sort. Washington is 62-73 and has lost 4 of its last 5 games. It has also crossed the plate a grand total of once over its past 2 outings.
Three games out of a wild-card spot, the Fish will once again be playing with a sense of desperation. There is no reason why that can’t lead to another win over the Nats, against whom they have won 8 of the last 10 head-to-head meetings – including 4 in a row in Washington. Look for Miami to win big.
Phillies -1.5 over Brewers (+150)
This should be a good one between two teams in the playoff race, but I think Philadelphia can take care of business with Zack Wheeler on the mound. Wheeler pitched 7.0 innings last time out against St. Louis and gave up only 1 run while striking out 10 batters. The right-hander has delivered quality starts in 7 of his last 8 appearances and the only exception was still a solid performance (4 runs allowed in 7.0 innings).
Although the Phillies lost a 10-8 thriller to the Angels on Wednesday, they had won 7 of their previous 8 games and they just broke their franchise record for home runs in a single month with 59. As for the Brewers, they could have put the Cubs away in the National League Central earlier this week but lost back-to-back contests to end that series to see their lead stand at just 2 games. Milwaukee is reeling a bit, so give me Wheeler and Philly on the run line.

Dodgers ML over Braves (+108)
The Dodgers almost came all the way back from a 6-1 deficit in the series opener on Thursday. They steadily chipped away with runs in 4 different innings before failing to score with multiple runners on base in a 1-run game in the bottom of the 9th. Still, that near-comeback gives Los Angeles some momentum heading into tonight – plus it has Julio Urias on the mound. His last start was a hiccup, but prior to that the left-hander had allowed only 4 runs in his previous 4 starts spanning 25.0 innings.
This should be a good pitchers’ duel with Max Fried, but Fried is still in the relatively early stages of his comeback from injury and it’s not like he is a lock to throw a gem – especially not against one of the best lineups in baseball. The Dodgers have good value as underdogs.
