The 2024 Major League Baseball season continues with a full 15-game slate on Friday. It begins with an afternoon showdown in the National League Central between the Brewers and Cubs before concluding with a potential NLCS preview featuring the Braves and Dodgers. Also on the schedule are Giants vs Phillies, Tigers vs Yankees and Mariners vs Astros. Below is my MLB mega parlay for Friday, while you can also check out our MLB picks for today’s biggest matchups.
Pirates -1.5 (+116)
Padres -1.5 (+155)
Marlins ML (+114)
MLB parlay odds: +1079
For this MLB parlay, I am going with 2 favorites on the run line and 1 underdog on the money line. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.
Pittsburgh Pirates -1.5 over Colorado Rockies (+116)
A 3-game series at home against Colorado should be just what the doctor ordered for Pittsburgh. The Pirates have lost 4 in a row and 7 of their last 8 games, but they can be expected to turn things around starting on Friday. It’s safe to say that the Rockies are even worse. They are in the midst of a 5-game skid that has their record at 7-24. There are no days off for this club, either, after falling in 10 innings at Miami on Thursday. The Rockies used 3 relievers for a total of 6.1 innings in that contest. Pittsburgh, on the other hand, was off on Thursday. The home side is sending Martin Perez to the mound, and that is good news since he is sporting a 2.86 ERA through 6 outings. Colorado is countering with Cal Quantrill, who is 0-3 with a 5.34 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. Give me the Pirates to win big.

San Diego Padres -1.5 over Arizona Diamondbacks (+155)
The Padres have largely disappointed this season with a 16-18 record, but there are some positive signs for Friday. They have won 2 in a row and Dylan Cease is taking the mound. In his first season with his new club, Cease is 3-2 with a 2.78 ERA and 0.87 WHIP. He now faces a scuffling Arizona squad that is saddled with a 14-18 record on the heels of last year’s World Series appearance. The Diamondbacks got shut out by the Dodgers on Wednesday and they have scored 1 run or fewer on 4 occasions dating back to the previous Wednesday. Cease has every reason to throw a gem, and San Diego is the visiting team so is guaranteed to get a full 9 innings of at-bats in an effort to win by multiple runs. I think that effort will be successful.
Miami Marlins ML over Oakland Athletics (+114)
Are the Athletics really as good as their record suggests? And, yes, a 15-17 record is good by this franchise’s recent standards. But no, they probably aren’t actually this good. Moreover, the Marlins can’t actually be this bad (9-24). Miami certainly isn’t great, but it may be turning things around with a current 3-game winning streak. That should become 4 with Ryan Weathers toeing the rubber against the A’s on Friday night.
Although Weathers’ 2024 numbers aren’t spectacular, 4 of his 6 starts have been effective and 3 have been borderline dominant. At the plate, Luis Arraez is up to his usual tricks in the form of a 5-game hitting streak that includes 2 multi-hit performances. Arraez will likely do some damage against Oakland’s JP Sears, who surrendered 7 earned runs on 8 hits (3 homers) during a 7-0 loss to Baltimore in his most recent outing this past Saturday. The Fish have nice value as underdogs.
