The week in Major League Baseball continues with a more-than-full 16-game slate on Friday. That’s because the Guardians and Twins are playing a doubleheader, making up a contest that was rained out during the first week of the season. Today’s schedule also features Orioles vs Rays, Astros vs Red Sox, Phillies vs Diamondbacks and Pirates vs Dodgers. Let’s get into my MLB parlay picks for today’s action, while you can also check out all of our MLB picks for Friday, August 9.

Orioles -1.5 (+130)

Rockies ML (+136)

Dodgers -1.5 (+110)

MLB parlay odds: +1040

For this MLB parlay, I am going with 2 favorites on the run line and 1 underdog on the money line. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

With today’s MLB parlay picks, we recommend betting on them with BetMGM. They have the best odds available and right now new users can secure up to $1,500 in first-bet insurance if their initial wager loses! All you need to do to grab this BetMGM promo code is click this link.

Baltimore Orioles -1.5 over Tampa Bay Rays (+130)

Zach Eflin is taking the mound for Baltimore and will face his former team tonight. His first 2 starts with the Orioles have been quality, spanning a total of 12.1 innings with a modest 5 runs allowed. Eflin has really been in strong form dating back to the start of June. He should get some run support, too. Tampa Bay’s Zack Littell (5-7, 4.06 ERA) is nothing special and Baltimore’s bats have been hot of late. The O’s are batting .265 with 21 home runs in their last 15 games, averaging 5.9 runs during this stretch. The visitors get all 9 innings of at-bats today, which is another reason why I like them to win by multiple runs.

Colorado Rockies ML over Atlanta Braves (+136)

The Braves did not just get swept at home by Milwaukee earlier this week; they were so bad that it may take a while to recover. All you really need to know is that they sent a position player to the mound in each of the last 2 losses to the Brewers. Since the all-star break, Atlanta already has losing streaks of 6 and 5 – the latter being current. Manager Brian Snitker is turning to Grant Holmes to end the skid. Holmes has been decent so far in 2024, but he has made only 2 starts in his MLB career. Pitching in the mile-high conditions of Colorado probably won’t help matters. Obviously, the Rockies aren’t good, but it may not matter. The Braves have been outscored 41-12 in their past 4 outings. Colorado as a sizable underdog has great value.

Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 over Pittsburgh Pirates (+110)

The Dodgers lost the last 2 games of their potential NLCS preview against the Phillies, so they will be eager to get back on track this weekend. They will likely be able to do it, starting with Jack Flaherty toeing the rubber on Friday night. Flaherty is sporting a 2.80 ERA and 0.96 WHIP this year. His first start with Los Angeles did not disappoint; last Saturday against the Athletics he fired 6.0 innings of shutout baseball with 7 strikeouts and 1 walk. If this continues, Flaherty’s acquisition will be the most important of an otherwise quiet trade deadline. He is scoreless in his last 12.0 innings of work dating back to his time with the Tigers. Freddie Freeman is back for the boys in blue, so Flaherty should get some run support even though Pittsburgh has a solid starter going in the form of Mitch Keller.
