These teams got their weekend series started early, so this is already the third game. The Guardians are looking to extend their lead in the AL Central, while the Mariners have their eyes set on an AL wild-card spot. Seattle was recently in the spotlight with the new 14-year extension they gave to rookie Julio Rodriguez. Cleveland also extended their superstar, Jose Ramirez, at the beginning of the season. With guys on both sides worth targeting, let’s check out the best ways to make this game profitable. Along with this same game parlay, be sure to check out our MLB picks for all of today’s games.

Let’s take a closer look at each leg of our same game parlay.

Seattle Mariners ML (-184) over Cleveland Guardians

This is still the first series between these teams this season, so there aren’t any past samples to consider. However, we do know that they’ve each had their ups and downs this season. That may make it surprising that this game is so heavily favored for the Mariners, but it’s justified. After an evenly-priced game last night, there are no longer the aces on the mound. Instead of Shane Bieber, the Guardians have quite the drop-off with Zach Plesac. He’s just 2-11 on the year after losing his last outing against the Tigers. He hasn’t recorded a win in nearly 3 months, and he doesn’t look set for one tonight.

The Mariners are going with former Red Luis Castillo. He was arguably the hottest commodity in terms of pitchers at the trade deadline. Since joining Seattle, he’s led the team to 3 wins in his 4 starts. That includes back-to-back wins against the Yankees. One of those was his best start yet, as he shut out New York for 8.0 innings and allowed just 3 hits. They were able to get that win with just a single run, and he should expect more run support against Plesac. Rodriguez will be out to live up to his new contract, and Plesac has allowed at least 4 runs in 3 of his last 4 starts. If the Guardians can’t take down the Tigers behind his starts, it’s even less likely they can against the Mariners.

Julio Rodriguez 2+ total bases (-110)

After a rare off-night against the Guardians ace Bieber, Julio should be able to bounce back against Plesac. He’s more than capable, otherwise the Mariners wouldn’t have given him that new contract extension. He was both an all-star and home-run derby participant in his rookie year. In fact, it was nearly a home-run derby champion as he made it all the way to the finals. His 20 actual home runs this season have helped him accumulate 198 total bases, the most on the team. That’s despite missing 17 games. He’s just 1 double shy of having 20 doubles and 20 home runs on the year. Along with his 3 triples, Rodriguez truly can do it all. With Seattle trusting him to produce for years to come, let’s trust him to do so tonight.

Jose Ramirez 2+ total bases (+125)

Another guy whose off-nights are few and far between is Guardians slugger Jose Ramirez. He has arguably been the best hitter in the entire league, and should prove that tonight. It shouldn’t matter who is on the mound as he’s the very definition of matchup-proof. Targeting his hitting prop while backing the Mariners to win may seem strange, but he even had an RBI in their series-opening loss. Ramirez also had a 2-homer game heading into this series with 9 total bases. That’s just a fraction of his 250 on the year. That’s the 2nd-most in the league, behind only Aaron Judge. He also leads the AL in doubles with 37. Along with 130 hits, Ramirez is simply too strong at the plate to doubt him having success tonight.
