Philadelphia Phillies ML (+130) over Atlanta Braves
The Phillies may have split their series with the Braves in Atlanta at the end of May, but this is a rejuvenated ball club since then. Since June 3, Philadelphia has gone 13-2 and is in the middle of a 6-game winning streak. Nick Castellanos ranks 2nd amongst hitters in the month of June, hitting .403, while Kyle Schwarber is tied with Corbin Carroll for the 3rd-most homers in the month with 7. However, even with how well the Phillies have been playing, they haven’t been able to make up any ground on both the Marlins and Braves. Atlanta has also gone 13-2 since June 3 and has 6 starters hitting well over .300 in the month, led by Orlando Arcia at .397.
These have been two of the hottest and most productive lineups in baseball this month and tonight’s outcome will ultimately come down to pitching. Ranger Suarez takes the mound for Philadelphia and has looked much sharper than he did after his initial return from injury. Suarez carried a 7.13 ERA into June after 4 rough outings in May but has been rock solid over his last 3 starts, allowing just 2 earned runs over 20 innings. Spencer Strider has done just the opposite of that, surrendering 13 earned runs on 15 hits over his last 2 outings. The strikeout numbers have still been there for Strider, but his 11% barrel rate is slightly concerning. Strider is still among one of the best starters in the National League, but I’m going to fade him on the road given his recent struggles.
Alec Bohm to record a hit (-210)
Alec Bohm returned to the Philadelphia lineup on June 11 after missing time with a left hamstring strain and all he’s done since then is swing the bat. Bohm has hit safely in 5 of his 7 games in June and is batting .281 with just 1 walk. His spray chart illustrates his willingness to use the entire field and 72.3% of his batted balls are either up the middle or to the opposite field. In addition to the strong month, Bohm is 3-for-9 against Strider with a homer and has the best numbers of any Phillie against the hard-throwing right-hander. This should be the perfect opportunity to take advantage of this matchup considering Strider’s allowed 15 hits over his last 9 innings, including 5 home runs. I’ll back Bohm to hit safely at Citizens Bank.

Spencer Strider over 8.5 strikeouts (-136)
Although this Same Game Parlay calls for a Philadelphia win given the recent struggles of Spencer Strider, he’s still going to get his at the end of the day. Strider may be giving up runs at a higher-than-usual clip, but he’s still one of the best strikeout pitchers in baseball and that can’t be ignored. Through 14 starts, Strider has 127 punchouts and 14.5 strikeouts per 9 innings, which is better than last year’s mark of 13.8, and better than every other pitcher in baseball.
Strider recorded 9 strikeouts in 6 innings against the Phillies on May 28 and has a total of 43 strikeouts in 27.1 innings, or 14.2 strikeouts per 9 innings lifetime against the Phillies’ lineup. On the surface, this number just appears far too low, and since September of 2022, Strider has recorded over 8.5 strikeouts in 14 of his last 18 starts. The Phillies are a dangerous lineup, but they’re also a lineup that strikes out quite often, owning the 8th most strikeouts in baseball. Back Strider to rack up the K’s as he normally does and take the over.
