Saturday’s game between the Braves and Brewers is one of three series between division leaders this weekend. Milwaukee needs this series a little more than Atlanta does considering the Braves winning the NL East is all but a formality. Even though the Braves could probably take their foot off the gas and get away with it, they are not getting complacent and just continue to win. We will see if Milwaukee can bounce back from Friday’s loss to Atlanta or if the Braves will keep rolling over teams.

Atlanta Braves ML over Milwaukee Brewers (-130)

Unfortunately for the Brewers, this game just looks better for the Braves again. It has less to do with the Brewers’ recent performances because they have actually played well lately. The Braves are just that good. They have won 14 out of their last 20 games including 4 of their last 5 on the road. Atlanta also has had Milwaukee’s number specifically as the Braves have won 7 out of the last 10 head-to-head matchups with the Brewers.

The Braves snapped a 4-game losing streak on Thursday against the Diamondbacks and followed it up with a 6-4 win against the Brewers last night. This team is not interested in a losing streak and appears to have fully bounced back. They will come out looking to keep the good form rolling. It would be difficult to fade the Braves against any team in baseball, and in this matchup between division leaders, things look a little better for the Braves.

Under 9.5 (-115)

The over has been more prominent in the Braves’ season while the under has been a more regular outcome in the Brewers’ games. Recent trends for both teams have favored the under, though, and Saturday’s game sets up to continue the trend. In their respective last 10 games, the over-under record is 8-12 and the under has hit in 7 of the Brewers’ last 8 games and in 4 of their last 6 home games against the Braves.

The Braves’ starting pitcher will be Allan Winans, a rookie making his big-league debut. While leaning on a rookie for a low total can be risky, Winans appears to be fully Major League-ready. In 18 games in AAA this season, Winans has a 2.81 ERA with 89 strikeouts in 102.2 innings pitched. Unfamiliarity could stymie the Brewers while their starter Adrian Houser looks to quieten the Braves’ bats. The pitching matchup looks good for a low total.

Austin Riley 1+ total bases (+125)

Austin Riley is on fire, which is bad news for the rest of the league. The Braves have rolled this year and for the most part have done so with Riley being more of a supplemental contributor than a primary contributor. But lately he has been playing a bigger role to the tune of 5 home runs and 13 RBIs in his last 4 games. Riley appears to be seeing a beach ball right now which is great for the Braves and great for bettors taking his props.

A plus-money price for Riley to continue his impressive streak has a lot of appeal. He should be in the 3-hole again in the lineup following Ronald Acuna Jr. and Ozzie Albies. Those guys get on base as well as anyone in the league and will give Riley more opportunities to bat them across home plate. Riley is also protected by Matt Olson batting clean-up and Sean Murphy in the 5-hole. Riley is set up very well to produce.
