The Western Conference Play-in Tournament continues with the Sacramento Kings hosting the Dallas Mavericks. It is a win-or-go-home situation for both teams since this is the #9 vs #10 matchup. The winner will visit Memphis for the 8th and final spot in the Western Conference NBA playoffs. With such a big matchup in store, I’ve pieced together my Mavericks vs Kings Same Game Parlay picks for the action, which tips off at 10:00 pm ET on ESPN. You can also get our NBA picks for EVERY postseason matchup.

Sacramento Kings -4.5 over Dallas Mavericks (-110)

Just 10 months removed from a surprising run to the NBA Finals, the Mavericks find themselves clinging to playoff hopes. The roster – and really the entire direction of the franchise – looks entirely different. That, of course, is due largely to the fact that Luka Doncic was traded to the Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis. Not too surprisingly, Davis immediately got hurt with his new team and has played sparingly. He is good to go for tonight’s game (even though he is probably less than 100 percent), but Kyrie Irving is obviously done for the season with a torn ACL. It’s hard to see Davis, Klay Thompson, Spencer Dinwiddie and a patchwork supporting cast making any kind of postseason noise. In fact, I doubt they even make it past 1 game.

Sacramento has also been a team in turmoil, including the firing of Mike Brown and the departure of De’Aaron Fox via a trade with San Antonio. Still, there is a lot more to like about the Kings. They are 4-2 SU in their last 6 contests and they swept the Mavs 3-0 in the regular-season series. I’ll happily back the home team to win in comfortable fashion.

Over 219.5 alternate total (+142)

Two of the 3 head-to-head matchups this season featured at least 220 points – including 232 points in regulation on February 10. Six of Sacramento’s last 8 contests overall have produced 220 points or more, including bloated numbers of 240 and 244 in 2 of its last 4. Six of Dallas’ last 8 games have resulted in at least 222 points. The Mavericks’ offense has been nothing special of late, but their defense has been terrible. Give me the over, and I’m willing to play it up to 219.5 for better value.

Domantas Sabonis Over 39.5 points+rebounds+assists (-105)

Sabonis averaged 39.0 PRA during the regular season, so asking him to reach the 40 mark in the biggest game of the year should not be too much. The star center should log a ton of minutes in a do-or-die situation, plus Malik Monk is still out – so Sabonis will have to pick up some of that slack. He has cleared this number in 6 of the past 8 games and did so in 1 of 2 appearances against Dallas, missing the other time by just 1. The Mavericks are 2nd-last in the entire NBA in opponents’ points in the paint allowed, including dead last in that department over the last 3 outings. Davis just isn’t the same low-post defender at this point in his career – especially not when he is not entirely right from a physical standpoint. Count on Sabonis doing it all for the Kings in this one.
