Another full slate of March Madness first-round action will take center stage in the sports world on Saturday. Sixteen more games are on the schedule, giving us ample opportunity to come up with a seven-team parlay that is rich in value. A $10 bet pays out well over $1000!

St. Bonaventure ML (+100)

Kansas -11 (-110)

Ohio ML (+270)

Florida State -10.5 (-110)

USC ML (-270)

UConn ML (-154)

UC Santa Barbara +7.5 (-110)

Parlay odds: +11977

For this parlay we are taking two favorites against the spread, one underdog and the points, and four money line winners (two underdogs and two favorites). Let’s break down each of the seven legs one by one.

St. Bonaventure ML over LSU (+100)

The Bonnies completely dominated the Atlantic 10, in both the regular season and the conference tournament. They aren’t deep (all five starters for the Bonnies average more than 32 minutes per game) but that shouldn’t become a problem until later in the Big Dance if they make a run. LSU may still be reeling from a tough loss to Alabama in the SEC Tournament final.

Kansas -11 over Eastern Washington (-110)

This wasn’t your normal Kansas team earlier in the season, but head coach Bill Self’s squad as come on strong of late. The Jayhawks are 9-2 in their last 11 and look ready to make more NCAA Tournament noise. Giving only 11 points to an overmatched team like Eastern Washington is actually kind of disrespectful.

Ohio ML over Virginia (+270)

The only thing that scares me is seemingly everyone loves Ohio. Jason Preston is a great story, and the Bobcats are facing a Virginia program that has been dealing with coronavirus issues. The Wahoos withdrew from the ACC Tournament prior to the semifinals and basically have no practice time prior to this game.

Florida State -10.5 over UNC Greensboro (-110)

Florida State advanced to the ACC Tournament final before falling to a Georgia Tech team that has won eight games in a row. The Seminoles are not quite as hot as they were in January and early February, but that is why they are giving only 10.5 points. This is not a good matchup for a UNCG side that is one-dimensional on offense.

USC ML over Drake (-270)

Drake already has one tournament game under its belt, having survived a First Four showdown against Wichita State via a 53-52 thriller. Still, the Bulldogs did not look especially impressive. USC’s Evan Mobley will obviously be the best player in the floor in this one. Taking the Trojans on the money line should be the safe play of this parlay.

UConn ML over Maryland (-154)

Maryland has the most losses in the entire field with 13. Sure the Terrapins play in the powerhouse Big 10, but 13 losses are 13 losses. Meanwhile, UConn has looked like a different team—in a very good way—ever since James Bouknight returned from injury. Neither team is great, but the Huskies are better.

UC Santa Barbara +7.5 over Creighton (-110)

These No. 5 vs. No. 12 matchups rarely disappoint, and this one should deliver once again. The Gauchos aren’t your normal Big West Conference team, as they boast plenty of high-major talent on their roster. JaQuori McLaughlin, an Oregon State transfer, was the Big West Player of the Year. Creighton has not been great on or off the court in recent weeks. UCSB should cover and might even win outright.
