Voters in 55 of Louisiana’s 64 parishes approved sports betting in the fall of 2020, and the industry officially launched in the state on Friday, January 28. Retail sports betting has been live for several months, and bets can currently be placed at nine brick-and-mortar casinos:
- New Orleans: Boomtown Casino & Hotel and Harrah’s New Orleans Hotel & Casino
- Bossier City: Horseshoe Bossier City Hotel & Casino, Margaritaville Resort Casino, and Boomtown Casino Hotel
- Baton Rouge: L’Auberge Casino Hotel
- Lake Charles: L’Auberge Casino and Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino
- Marksville: Paragon Casino Resort and Hotel
While most retail casinos have their own sportsbooks, some have partnered with more nationally-recognized brands. For example, Caesars is the betting platform at Harrah’s Hotel & Casino in New Orleans and Horseshoe Hotel & Casino in Bossier City. DraftKings is used at the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in Lake Charles.
