In what has been one of the most entertaining series so far this postseason, we see the Minnesota Timberwolves and LA Lakers clash in an early tipoff on Sunday. I have prepared a Same Game Parlay for Game 4, priced at +830 odds.
You can find our predictions on the side and total for Sunday’s NBA postseason slate on our NBA predictions page, but now let’s get into my Lakers vs Timberwolves Game 4 SGP!
Lakers ML (+130)
Luka Doncic to record a triple-double (+500)
Same Game Parlay odds: +830
Lakers ML (+130)
So far this series has adhered to the Zig-Zag Theory, in which the momentum shifts between the home and road teams based on how each performed in the previous game. The idea is that each game in a playoff series is affected by the result that preceded it, which is exactly how every game in this series has gone. It just so happens that I’m going right back to the well with that pattern in Game 4, as I’ll be backing the Lakers to even the series at 2 games apiece following their defeat on Friday. Minnesota’s role players are naturally going to play better at home, but I expect Jaden McDaniels (30 points in Game 3) to come back down to earth a bit on Sunday, especially since JJ Redick has proven to be an excellent motivator and schematic coach on the defensive side of the ball for Los Angeles. As for the Lakers’ offense, Austin Reaves finally showed signs of life from beyond the 3-point arc in Game 3 and LeBron James (38 points in Game 3) can always be trusted to put forth a great effort in a playoff game of this magnitude. The series is effectively over if the Lakers end up falling behind 3-1, so I’m expecting Redick and the coaching staff to make the necessary adjustments needed to give Los Angeles an edge in this pivotal Game 4.

Luka Doncic to record a triple-double (+500)
The main reason why the Lakers faltered on the road in Game 3 was the lack of production from their best player, Luka Doncic, who was suffering from a stomach illness. We all know about the defensive proves of the Timberwolves, but I am willing to take great offense over great defense every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Doncic set the tone early in this series by going over 30 points in both of the LA games, so I’m looking for him to get back on track following a subpar Game 3. He was just 1 assist shy of a triple-double in Game 2, while in Game 3 he needed only 3 rebounds and 2 assists despite the aforementioned stomach bug he was dealing with. Bigtime players make bigtime plays when it matters the most. It doesn’t get any bigger for the Lakers, who find themselves in a 2-1 hole while playing Game 4 in a hostile environment. We all still remember what Doncic did to the T-Wolves in the Western Conference Finals last year; he recorded 2 triple-doubles in 5 games. At +500 odds, I’m more than willing to back him to have the best all-around game of this series so far.
