I am officially on fire! Following last night’s SGP winner in the Nuggets vs 76ers game I have now cashed on 3 of my last 4 Same Game Parlay bets. I’ll try to keep the momentum going with tonight’s LA Lakers vs New York Knicks game. Tip-off is at 8.30 pm ET on ABC, be sure to visit our NBA Picks for selection on Saturday’s slate, but now let’s dive into my SGP bet!
Mikal Bridges 3+ Made Threes (+105)
Max Christie 2+ Made Threes (-140)
LeBron James to Record 8+ Rebounds (-130)
Same Game Parlay odds: +457
Mikal Bridges 3+ Made Threes (+105)
With the Lakers mostly focusing on containing Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges can go under the radar a bit as the 3rd scoring option here. He’s been scoring the ball very efficiently over his last 10 games. From three-point land Bridges is at almost 44% during this stretch, while making 2.8 triples per game. He’s cleared this line 5 times, with the highlight being 6 threes made in the game against Detroit. On two other occasions he’s connected on 5 triples, if the Knicks are smart they will get him going early here. On paper the Lakers have shown improvements defending the perimeter in their last 3 games, however they played the Wizards, 76ers and Hornets so it’s hard to take those numbers seriously. For the season they are allowing opponents to shoot 36.7% from downtown in road games, that puts them in the bottom half of the NBA. In his last 4 games vs LA, Bridges is averaging 3.5 makes from downtown on 43.8% efficiency.
LeBron James to Record 8+ Rebounds (-130)
LeBron didn’t waste any energy in the win over Washington the other day, logging just 27 minutes in a blowout win for the Lakers. That should do him well as he goes into the World’s most famous arena for the first and only time this season. Playing at MSG always brings out the best out of LeBron and I have no doubt that’ll be the case in Saturday’s game as well. With Anthony Davis out of the line-up, someone will have to pick up the slack in the rebounding department and I believe LeBron is our guy. At this stage of his career he can no longer run the fastbreak on a consistent basis, so expect him to hang out below the rim a bit more than he usually does. In his last 6 games James is averaging 7.8 rebounds per game, he has cleared this line 3 times as well. Against the Knicks he’s collected double-digit rebounds in 3 of the last 4 meetings, while averaging 9.8 per game.
Max Christie 2+ Made Threes (-140)
Christie has been giving the Lakers a big boost over the past 10 games as one of the key role players. He just had his 9th game of at least 10 points in the month of January, in order to stay in this game the Lakers will need him to contribute. His three-point shooting has improved significantly in January compared to previous months. He’s making 2.2 threes per game which is a significant jump from the 1.5 per game he averaged in December. His efficiency has slightly gone up as well from 38.8% to 39.2%, continuing a trend of 3 straight months of improvement. In his last 10 games he has cleared this line 8 times, so we are getting really solid odds for a bet that cashes 80% of the time. New York has been giving up a lot of threes this season and that’s one of their main flaws on the defensive end. They are dead last in opponent efficiency from downtown, teams are making 37.7% of their attempts against them. Let’s hope Christie can make the most out of that in Saturday’s clash.
