The 2020 XFL season will kick-off once again this weekend as there is more football to watch a week after the biggest game of them all, the Super Bowl. It may have taken a 20-year hiatus, but the XFL is coming back with eight brand new franchisees ready to take over the football industry. One of those teams being the Los Angeles Wildcats who will be playing out of Dignity Health Sports Park, home of the MLS LA Galaxy. Let’s dive straight into the Los Angeles Wildcats XFL Season Preview. Looking for game predictions? Check out our XFL Predictions now!
LA Wildcats Head Coach
For the Wildcats, they will be led by Winston Moss who already is a champion and looking to bring one here in Los Angeles. Winston brings on board nearly twenty years coaching, including 12 as associate NFL head coach. He was also the Assistant head coach/LB coach for Super Bowl XLV-champion Green Bay Packers. Lastly, he started his love for the game on the field where he played for 11 years with the Buccaneers, Raiders, and Seahawks
LA Wildcats Key Players
QB Josh Johnson: The veteran quarterback is looking to end on a good note for his career as the start has been a pretty bumpy road. Johnson started three games for the Washington Redskins in 2018 and also had appearances with the Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He comes into this new season with a 1-7 record as a starter.
OT Storm Norton: Someone has to protect the veteran QB and that will be Storm Norton who is a straight-up monster. One of the younger players on the roster, the 25-year old is still looking to kick-start his career as he had a short stint with the Minnesota Vikings back in 2018. I’ll see if anyone can get around this 6-8, 308-pound monster.
DE Shawn Oakman: Remember the photo of the Baylor player that took over the internet as he looked like a monster from a different planet? Well, that player was Shawn Oakman and he will get a second chance with the Wildcats. He was originally cut back in December but it seems as if Coach Moss will give him one more go.
LA Wildcats Win Total: O/U 4.0 Wins
Love the value here on the Wildcats for this win total future bet. Looking at their schedule, it is pretty tough to start, however, the final weeks taking on the Seattle Dragons twice, and St. Louis Battlehawks should be easy wins. Even if Josh Johnson struggles to start the season or is unable to play because of his injuries, the Wildcats have enough talent to at least get them four wins for a push. BET: Over 4.0 Wins
LA Wildcats Championship Odds (+750)
Remember the LA Xtreme? They brought the same championship attitude into the XFL back 20 years ago and won it all. Now QB Josh Johnson along with WR’s Nelson Spruce and Jordan Smallwood might not be the sexiest offense in the XFL, but they can gut out some tough wins. I love the value here especially since it keeps rising and rising. You gotta take a longshot on one of these championship odds and that belongs to the LA Wildcats. BET: Wildcats Championship +750
