KBO picks and predictions
Wednesday’s three-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.
KT Wiz/Kia Tigers Over 9.5 (-130)
The KT Wiz will start William Cuevas, who is 10-8 with an ERA of 4.14. Cuevas has been struggling recently, allowing 15 runs over his last 26.2 innings. That is over the span of his last five starts and he is 1-2 during this stretch with an ERA of 5.13.
The Tigers will start Hyun-soo Kim, who is 1-2 with an ERA of 8.23. He has mainly come out of the bullpen and has only three starts this season. In his three starts, he has allowed eight runs over 10.2 innings, giving him an ERA of 6.75.
The over is 5-0 in the last five games for the Kia Tigers and 4-1 for the KT Wiz. The KT Wiz are averaging 8.4 runs per game, while allowing 4.8 runs over their last five games. The Tigers have scored 7.4 runs per game in their last five games and are allowing 6.2 runs per game during the same stretch. The over is also 10-5 in their 15 head to head meetings this season.
NC Dinos/Lotte Giants Under 11.5 Runs (-120)
Knowing that the NC Dinos have already secured a spot in the final has me to believe they may rest some players. They will start Myung-gi Song in this game. He is 8-3 with a decent ERA of 3.81. His last five starts have seen him allow eight runs over 27.0 innings. That translates to an ERA of 2.67. The Dinos are scoring 5.2 runs over their last five games as well.
The Giants will counter with Young-hwan Choi, who has yet to earn a decision and has an ERA of 6.75. To be fair, Choi has only had 6.2 innings of work. This will be his first start of the season, but he may only be used as an opener. The Giants’ offense has been lacking though, scoring an average of 3.6 runs over their last five games. They are allowing just 4.2 runs during the same stretch, so the defense has still been good. With a game that does not mean anything, I think we will see a low scoring game and will take the under.
Hanwha Eagles/LG Twins Under 8.5 Runs (-110)
This game actually means something, at least for the Twins as they are looking to secure the 2nd seed in the KBO playoffs. The Hanwha Eagles however, have been the worst team this entire season and they just want the losing to end. Because of that, I do not think we are going to get much of an effort from the Eagles. They will be starting Ee-whan Kim, who is 2-7 with an ERA of 6.42. At the very least, he has pitched well against the Twins, posting an ERA of 2.35 over two appearances.
The Twins will counter with Chan-gyu Lim. He is 10-9 with an ERA of 3.97. Lim has pitched fantastic against the Eagles, posting an ERA of 1.00 over three starts. He has allowed just two runs over 18.0 innings against the Eagles, and should be able to slow them down here as well. Even with a low total, I like the under because Hanwha is just that bad of a team.
For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +519.
