KBO picks and predictions
Wednesday’s 5-game slate features some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.
Doosan Bears vs NC Dinos – Under 9.5 runs (-115)
The Bears are coming off a game where they scored 11 runs, but Drew Rucinski is too good of a pitcher to allow them to score anywhere close to that number. Rucinski has been solid against the Bears too, allowing 2 runs over 6.0 innings in his 1 start against them. Choi Won-Joon has had similar success against the Dinos, allowing 5 runs over 11.1 innings in his 2 starts. With both pitcher tough to score on and the Dinos having not played for a few days, backing the under in this game looks to be the best play in what should be a pitchers’ duel.
SSG Landers vs KT Wiz – Over 9.5 runs (-110)
Choi Min-Jun (SSG Landers) has had more than his fair share of struggles against the KT Wiz. It should be noted that all of these appearances were out of the bullpen, but they are still likely going to be an issue. Over just 3.2 innings of relief against the KT Wiz, Min-Jun has allowed 8 runs. This translates to an ERA of 19.64.
So Hyeong-Jin (KT Wiz) has been much better against the Landers, winning his lone appearance after allowing just 1 run over 6.0 innings. Even with that success, his last four starts overall are still a concern. During this stretch, Hyeong-Jin has allowed 12 runs over 15.2 innings of work. The Landers’ offense showed they can put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, plus an extra day of rest for the KT Wiz should help their hitters going into this game. Look for both pitchers to struggle here and back a high scoring game.
Samsung Lions +1.5 (-155) vs LG Twins
One of the better matchups set for Wednesday morning will be the second-placed Samsung Lions taking on the third-placed LG Twins. The Lions won their fourth straight game on Tuesday to move into second-place by 0.5 games and just 2.5 games behind first place. They will start Baek Jung-Hyun in this spot and he is 10-4 on the season with an ERA of 2.17.
On the other side, the LG Twins will start Andrew Suarez. He has also been elite this season, posting a record of 8-2 with an ERA of 2.48. The Twins had their game on Tuesday canceled due to rain, so they are still look to end their two-game losing streak. Though the Lions are playing some great baseball at the moment and not much separates these pitchers. For that reason, expect a close game on Wednesday and back the Lions on the run line to keep it tight.
For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a 3-team parlay — which pays out at +487.
