KBO picks and predictions
Tuesday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.
Lotte Giants Money Line (+114)
Not the greatest matchup here, but we will look to take advantage of what looks to be the better pitcher. That being Se-woong Park of the Lotte Giants. Now Park is only 6-5 with a 4.34 ERA, but he has been much better as of late. Over his last five starts, Park has allowed nine runs over 29.1 innings.
Je-seong Bae will start on the other side for the KT Wiz. He is 6-3 with a 4.73 ERA, but his last five starts have been awful. Bae has allowed 21 runs over his last 26.2 innings. That makes me wonder why he is deemed the favorite here. I just cannot trust him to put in a good outing, so I will back the Giants at plus money.
Kiwoom Heroes Run Line (-108)
The Kiwoom will open a series with the league leading NC Dinos as they look to improve their standing in the KBO. They will start Jae-woong Kim in this spot, who has done most of his work out of the bullpen. He is 0-2 on the season, but his ERA is very good at 2.63. Also, against the Dinos, he has an ERA of 2.08, so I do believe he will be very good here.
The Dinos will counter with Mike Wright, who is 8-4 with an ERA of 4.13. He certainly has not been as effective as of late, allowing 14 runs over his last 29.0 innings. This is not terrible, but still is inconsistent enough where I am hesitant to back him at a big price. The Heroes are a very good team, so I think they will keep this one close and I will back them on the run line.
Hanwha Eagles/Doosan Bears Over 9.5 Runs (+108)
With Raul Alcantara taking the mound for the Doosan Bears, you would generally think take the under. He is 10-2 on the season, but has seen his ERA jump up to 3.04. However over his last three starts, Alcantara has a record of 0-1, and has allowed 10 runs over 18.0 innings.
His opponent will be Shi-hwan Jang, who is 3-9 on the season with an ERA of 4.63. His last three starts have been worse, going 0-3, having allowed 11 runs over 14.0 innings. That translates to an ERA of 7.07, so we certainly not trust him to have a good outing.
The Doosan Bears have seen the over cash in four of their last five games, while the Eagles have seen the total go over in three of their last five games. Normally I would trust Alcantara, but I think he will continue his streak of allowing about three runs. With the Eagles starter struggling even more, Doosan should do the bulk of the work and therefore I will take the Over.
For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +757.
