KBO picks and predictions
Tuesday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.
Samsung Lions Money Line (+128)
The Lions will still be looking to salvage their season with some wins down the stretch and in turn will start David Buchanan in this spot. He has easily been one of their better pitchers, going 12-6 with an ERA of 3.74. Over his last six starts in particular, Buchanan is 4-0 with an ERA of 2.81. He has allowed 13 runs over 41.2 innings over this stretch.
Odrisamer Despaigne will make the start for the KT Wiz and he is 13-6 with an ERA of 3.96. He has gone 3-1 over his last six starts, posting an ERA of 3.72. He also has struggled against the Lions somewhat, going 2-1 with an ERA of 4.34 against them over three starts.
Buchanan has been pitching much more effectively as of late, so I will back him and the Lions to pick up the win here.
Doosan Bears Money Line (-136)
Looking to back Raul Alcantara here again because he has just been that good. Alcantara is 12-2 on the season with an ERA of 2.72. He has not allowed an earned run over his last two starts, pitching 13.0 innings over that stretch. He also performs well against the Dinos, posting an ERA of 2.53.
Mike Wright, the NC Dinos pitcher, has also been pretty good, but his ERA of 4.17 is much more concerning. He has allowed six runs over his last 12.0 innings and I would look for Doosan to hit him well here.
Lotte Giants/Kiwoom Heroes Over 10.5 Runs (+102)
Looking to fade two horrible pitchers here and will be looking for a ton of runs to be scored. The Lotte Giants will start Kyung-eun Noh, who is 4-6 with an ERA of 4.80. His last three starts have especially been rough, allowing 11 runs over his last 15.0 innings. He is 1-2 with an ERA of 7.08 against the Heroes, so he has not been able to stop them either.
On the other side, will be Jae-woong Kim, who is 0-3 with an ERA of 3.70. His last three starts have been awful as well, allowing eight runs over his last 10.2 innings. Against the Giants, he has a record of 0-1 with an ERA of 6.23. Both teams are averaging more than 6.0 runs per game over their last five games, so I will back the over.
