KBO picks and predictions
Tuesday’s 5-game slate features some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.
LG Twins vs NC Dinos – Under 11 runs (-110)
The total actually looks to be a much more solid play despite Song Myung-Gi’s ERA. It is important to note that Myung-Gi has not faced the LG Twins once this season. That gives him the chance to surprise the Twins players so to speak. At least through the first couple of innings. Lee Min-Ho has one start against the NC Dinos, where he went 5.0 innings, and allowed 4 earned runs. The Twins have still allowed the least amount of runs this season, so even with the struggles of Hin-Ho, they have a solid bullpen and should be able to shut down the Dinos reasonably well. Look for Myung-Gi to also have a decent start in this spot against an average Twins’ offense, therefore backing the under on Tuesday will be the play.
KT Wiz vs Lotte Giants – Under 8.5 runs (+146)
The total managed to stay under on Monday, mainly because this game was shortened to 7 innings. We will look to go right back to the under on Tuesday, though, because of the quality pitchers on the mound. To go along with his overall ERA of 3.68, Bae Je-Seong has pitched extremely well against the Giants. He is 1-0 against them and has an ERA of 1.80. That is over 2 starts as well, where he has pitched 10.0 innings and has allowed just 2 earned runs.
This will be Choi Yeong-Hwan’s first start against the KT Wiz this season, but he does have 2.0 innings of relief against them. In those 2.0 innings he did not allow a run. The KT Wiz offense certainly struggled on Monday and with similar conditions expected, look for this to be another low scoring game.
Hanwha Eagles vs Doosan Bears – Over 8.5 runs (-145)
Something clicked with the Hanwha’s offense as they managed 11 runs on Sunday. This is not a feat they are used to achieving, so perhaps we should expect that type of offense going forward. The Eagles have the opportunity here to take advantage of a shaky Bears’ pitcher. Gwak Been is 0-1 against the Eagles and has a solid ERA of 1.80. Though this was only over 1 start. In his last 3 starts overall, he has yielded at least 3 runs. Kim Yi-Hwan has not faced the Bears this season, but his season struggles have been well noted. A lot of his work has been out of the bullpen, so as a result he has just 3 starts this season. Over those 3 starts, he has allowed 10 runs over 6.2 innings, giving him an ERA of 13.50. For that reason, backing the over will be the play here.
For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a 3-team parlay — which pays out at +694.
