KBO picks and predictions
Tuesday’s 5-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.
Kiwoom Heroes vs Lotte Giants ML (-120)
The KT Wiz will start Bae Je-seong in this spot and he has been having a solid season. His current record is 6-5 and he has an ERA of 3.62. However, against the Twins he has shown some struggles. Je-seong’s record against the Twins is 1-1 and he has an ERA of 6.32 against them.
The LG Twins will start Andrew Suarez; he has been more than impressive. His record on the season is 8-2 and he has an ERA of 2.52. Unlike like his opponent, Suarez has been exceptional in this head-to-head matchup. He is currently 1-0 and has an ERA of 2.70 against the Wiz.
Even though the KT Wiz are on a winning streak, the Twins’ pitching looks to be too strong for this series opener. For that reason, look to back Suarez and the Twins on Tuesday morning.
NC Dinos ML (+115) vs SSG Landers
The SSG Landers will start Oh Won-seok; he comes in with a record of 5-4 and his ERA is 5.47. He has not faced the Dinos much this season, but in his lone start, he allowed 7 runs over 2.0 innings. With a couple of relief appearances, his ERA against the Dinos is 9.00.
The Dinos will turn to Song Myung-gi. He has not had the greatest season; he is 6-5 and has an ERA of 6.20. The good news is that he has not faced the SSG Landers and should be somewhat of an unknown to their lineup–at least for the first part of the game.
Both pitchers have clearly had their struggles, but Won-seok’s ERA against the Dinos is concerning. Ultimately, the Dinos are 5-2-1 against the Landers this year, so with a pitcher that the Landers have not seen yet, backing the Dinos as a small underdog will be the play here.
LG Twins ML (-155) vs KT Wiz
The Kiwoom Heroes will be starting Choi Won-tae in this game; he is 5-5 on the season with an ERA of 3.95. He has shown signs of struggles against the Giants, posting a record of 0-1 and his ERA is 9.00 against them. The Lotte Giants will start Enderson Franco, who is 6-4 on the season with an ERA of 4.65. He has pitched well against the Heroes though with an ERA of 3.06 and a record of 1-1.
Won-tae might be the better pitcher overall this season, but his struggles against the Giants are a real concern. Franco’s success against the Heroes cannot be ignored, so a play on the Giants looks to be the right side.
