KBO picks and predictions
Thursday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.
Lotte Giants/Doosan Bears Under 9.5 Runs (-126)
This plays stems off the inability both teams are showing as of late to score runs. The Doosan Bears are averaging 4.6 runs over their last five games, allowing 4.6 runs as well. The Lotte Giants offense has been even worse, scoring 3.6 runs during the same stretch.
The Bears have Raul Alcantara on the mound as well, who is 10-1 with a 2.81 ERA. He has now allowed three runs or less in eight straight starts, further proving how dominant he can be. Se-woong Park is 6-5 with a 4.75 ERA, but has still been serviceable as of late. He has been very good against Doosan, going 1-1 with a 2.81 ERA. I will back an under here and look for a pitchers duel.
NC Dinos/KIA Tigers Over 9.5 Runs (-104)
Despite each side lacking the ability to win as of late, they both are scoring runs. The over is 5-0 in Kia’s last five games and 7-1 in the NC Dinos’ last eight games. The over is 3-2 in their last five head to head games as well, so we should see each offense have success.
Mike Wright will be the starter for the Dinos. He is 6-4 on the season with a 4.23 ERA. The most concerning issue is his track record against this Tigers team. In three starts against them, he is 0-2 with a 5.68 ERA, allowing 12 runs over 19.0 innings. Drew Gagnon will be the starter for the Kia Tigers. He is 6-4 with a 5.30 ERA. His last couple starts have been lackluster as well, allowing 13 runs over his last 14.0 innings.
KT Wiz/Hanwha Eagles Over 10.5 Runs (-106)
Hanwha may have had the worst game of the year on Wednesday, allowing 26 runs to the SK Wyverns. Things do not look like they will get any better as they now face a KT Wiz team, who is averaging 5.2 runs over their last five games. Hanwha is now allowing 9.8 runs over their last five games.
The Eagles will start Shi-hwan Jang, who does not look to make the situation any better. Jang is 3-7 with a 4.54 ERA. In his lone start against the KT Wiz, he allowed seven runs over 3.0 innings. The KT Wiz will counter with Je-seong Bae. He is 5-3 with a 4.80 ERA. His last three starts have been especially bad, allowing 14 runs over his 10.0 innings.
Coming off a game where they allowed 26 runs, I do not see Hanwha bouncing back, so I will gladly back the over.
For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +583.
