KBO picks and predictions
Thursday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.
KIA Tigers/LG Twins Over 8.5 Runs (-134)
Looking to start this game will be Casey Kelly for the LG Twins. He has not exactly had the best year, going 4-5 so far with a 4.25 ERA. He has looked much better as of late, allowing 11 earned runs over his last 32.1 innings.
Min-woo Lee will make the start for the Tigers. He is 4-5 with an ERA of 5.57. His last five starts have been a disaster, where he has allowed 19 earned runs over 27 innings, giving him an ERA of 6.33 over this stretch. Lee actually just had a start where he allowed five runs in 6.0 to the Twins, so I look for LG to have enough offensive firepower to push this game over the total.
NC Dinos/Lotte Giants Under 11.5 Runs (-132)
The game on Wednesday may have gone over the total, but here the under is looking like the where you should look. First of all, scoring has been done for both teams, each averaging five runs or less over their last five games. The Giants have also seen their opponent’s scoring come down, just 2.2 runs allowed over the same stretch of games.
The NC Dinos are starting Min-hyuk Shin, who makes his first start of the season. He has had limited work out of the bullpen, but has allowed just one run over 3.2 innings so far. Adrian Sampson will make the start for the Giants. He is 3-6 with a 6.24 ERA, but having never faced the Dinos this season, I believe he will be able to have some success. The offenses for both sides are just not scoring as much right now, so I will look at the under to be the play.
SK Wyverns/KT Wiz Over 10.5 Runs (-108)
This over here has a lot to do with who the starting pitchers are, especially the starter for the SK Wyverns. That being Geon-wook Lee, who has a record of 4-4 with an ERA of 4.31. Even more disturbing, Lee has faced this KT Wiz team once this season, allowing nine runs in just 4.0 innings. That gives him an ERA of 20.25 against this team.
The KT Wiz pitcher is not having the greatest season either, going 5-2 but with a 4.11 ERA. He is also inconsistent, allowing six runs in his previous start over only 5.0 innings. When these teams met on Wednesday, the score was 11-2 in favor of the Wyverns. I think we will see the KT Wiz bounce back here and take advantage of a pitched they rocked last time they saw him. That still leads me to believe that neither guy will be able to keep runs off the board, so an over play is where I will look.
For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +491.
