KBO picks and predictions
Saturday’s 5-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.
Hanwha Eagles vs NC Dinos ML (-140)
The NC Dinos will start Kim Tae-gyeong in this game and he will be making his KBO debut. He has a total of 1.0 inning pitched in his KBO career and that was back in October of 2020.
The Eagles will be trying to end their three-game losing streak on Saturday as they will start Jang Si-hwan. The issue with Si-hwan is that he is 0-8 on the season. His ERA is 5.60 as well, so he is not really a pitcher that can be trusted. Add in the fact that he is 0-1 with an ERA of 5.79 against the Dinos and he looks to be automatic fade.
Even though Tae-gyeong has virtually no experience in the KBO, the Dinos are still going to be the play here. The Eagles are just not a good team, therefore backing the Dinos will be the play.
Kia Tigers ML (+110) vs SSG Landers
The Tigers will start Lee Eui-lee, who has a record of 4-3 with an ERA of 4-3. His ERA is 3.89, a solid number for the season. He also has been good against this Landers team, posting a 1-0 record and has not allowed a run against them. The SSG Landers will start Lee Tae-yang, who has not been having the greatest season. He is 4-3 on the year, but his 4.96 ERA could be a concern. He is 2-0 against this Tigers side, but has an ERA of 5.87 against them.
The Landers are actually the favorite in this game, but the winning streak for Kia has been too impressive to fade just yet. They look to have the edge in the pitching matchup and their offense has been plenty good enough as of late. For that reason, backing the Tigers will be the play.
Doosan Bears ML (-140) vs Kiwoom Heroes
The Doosan Bears will start Ariel Miranda, who has a record of 8-3 and his ERA is 2.82. He is 0-1 against the Heroes, but his ERA against them is 1.38. The Heroes will start Jeong Chan-heon in this spot and he has struggled at times this season. His record is 6-2, but he has just a decent ERA of 4.02. He is also 1-0 against the Bears and has not allowed a run against them.
Even though Chan-heon has had success against the Bears, they are going to be the play here. Putting up 16 runs on Friday will only help their confidence and Miranda has been too strong to fade. For that reason, look for the Bears to make it back-to-back wins against the Heroes.
