KBO picks and predictions
Friday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.
Hanwha Eagles/Lotte Giants Over 9.5 Runs (+106)
I am going to look for runs to be scored in this game given the recent outings from these starting pitchers. The Giants have Dan Straily on the mound, who might be their best pitcher, however over his last five starts, he has allowed 10 runs in 32.0 innings. This is still not terrible, but he had a game recently where he allowed seven runs, proving he can struggle at times.
On the other side will be Min-woo Kim, who has an ERA of 4.51. His last five starts have not been as good, allowing 15 runs over his last 25.0 innings. He has a 5.69 ERA against Lotte, so I would look for him to struggle here as well and will take the over as a result.
Doosan Bears Money Line (-170)
The Bears will start their Ace, Raul Alcantara to try and get them back into the top 5. Alcantara is 14-2 this season with an ERA of 2.86. He has allowed seven runs over his last 31.0 innings. That is over his last five starts.
The Tigers will start Hyun-jong Yang here, who is 9-7 with an ERA of 4.46. He has allowed nine runs over his last five starts. That being over his last 29.1 innings. This price is a little high, but I cannot fade Alcantara here. Besides one start recently, he has been lights out, so I think he will outduel the Tigers pitcher.
SK Wyverns +1.5 Run Line (+104)
I do not normally tend to back the SK Wyverns, but given the starting pitching, I like them here to at least keep it close. The Wyverns will start Young-woo Jo, who is 2-1 with a 5.22 ERA. Of course, these are not great numbers, but his recent start tell a different story. Over his last four appearances in particular, he has allowed three runs in 20.1 innings. He also has performed very well against the Heroes, allowing one run over 7.2 innings against them.
For the Heroes, they will start Seung-ho Lee. He is 5-6 on the season with an ERA of 4.84. His last four starts have seen him allow 11 runs over 20.1 innings. He also has struggled against this Wyverns team, allowing five runs over 7.1 innings. Given these struggles, I will back the Wyverns on the run line.
For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +567.
