KBO picks and predictions

Thursday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Samsung Lions ML (-120) vs NC Dinos

The NC Dinos got a needed win on Wednesday, beating the KT Wiz 4-2. They are now in 7th place but trail the Kiwoom Heroes by 1 game for the final playoff spot. The Dinos will be expected to start Wes Parsons in this spot, looking to build on that Wednesday morning win. Parsons is 3-6 on the season and has an ERA of 3.58.

The Samsung Lions won their game on Wednesday, beating the Kiwoom Heroes 9-3. This helped them gain a game on the Wiz, as they now sit 3 games back of 1st place. The Lions will counter with Won Tae-In. He is 13-6 on the season and has an ERA of 2.89.

Both pitchers have been good this season, but Tae-In looks to be a bit more consistent. He did struggle in his last start, but has been lights out against the Dinos, so backing the Lions looks to be the best option here.

Kia Tigers ML (-115) vs Lotte Giants

The Kia Tigers were able to pick a win on Wednesday, beating the Lotte Giants by a score of 4-2. It still does not help their standing, but for the moment, it keeps them out of last place. The Tigers will start Bo Takahashi on Thursday morning. He only has a few starts this season, but so far has been excellent. He is 1-0 on the season and has yet to allow a run in 2 starts.

With the loss on Wednesday, the Lotte Giants continue to have a disappointing season. Now trailing the final playoff spot by 3 games, they will need to string together some wins if they are going to challenge the teams in front of them. The Giants will start Bae Jae-June, who has not quite been as effective as his counterpart. He is 1-1 on the season and has an ERA of 4.70.

Takahashi has been lights out so far, and should give the Kia Tigers a good chance to win this game. Because Jae-June has not been as effective, backing the Tigers looks to be the best play.

Kiwoom Heroes vs KT Wiz ML (-115)

The Kiwoom Heroes lost on Wednesday by a score of 9-3 to the Samsung Lions. They still hold the final playoff spot in 5th place, but the loss tightens the gap as the SSG Landers are just 1 game behind them. The Heroes will start Choi Won-Tae, who is 8-9 on the season but has a concerning ERA of 4.76.

The Wiz also lost on Wednesday to the NC Dinos 4-2. This loss prevented them from extend their lead at the top of the standings, as they now lead the 2nd-place Samsung Lions by just 3 games. The Heroes will counter with Um Sang-Back, who is 3-1 with an ERA of 3.89.

Won-Tae has not been very good for the Heroes this season, allowing 12 runs over his last 12.2 innings. Sang-Back has been much more consistent, so backing the KT Wiz to get back into the win column will be the play here.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a 3-team parlay–which pays out at +540.
