KBO picks and predictions

Sunday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Hanwha Eagles vs Doosan Bears – Under 8 runs (-105)

The total looks to be a much better play with how both pitchers have performed against their opponents. Kim Min-Woo is 2-0 against the Bears and has yet to allow a run. This is over 2 starts, during which he has pitched 13.0 innings of shutout baseball. As for Choi Won-Joon, he has also performed very well against the Eagles. He has not recorded a decision against them, but has an ERA of 1.64. This is over the span of 2 starts, where he has allowed 2 runs over 11.0 innings.

Doosan’s offense certainly did not show up on Saturday and it is hard to believe that will change on Sunday. The Eagles’ pitcher has been too strong against the Bears, so backing another low scoring game will be the top play here.

LG Twins vs KT Wiz – Under 9 runs (-105)

The total has to be the better play here, and not just because these offenses failed to do anything on Saturday. Casey Kelly has yet to face the KT Wiz this season, which is a little surprising but it still should give him a bit of an advantage–at least through the early part of the game.

On the other side, Shim  Jae-Min has very little experience against the Twins. He has just 4.1 innings against them this season, all in relief. The good news is that he has yet to allow a run to the Twins. So, while there is not much of a sample size, there is still reason to believe he could pitch a solid game. Both offenses have not done much as of late, so backing the under looks to be the best play.

SSG Landers vs Kia Tigers – Over 9 runs (-105)

With 2 struggling pitchers, the total could be the better way to go. Especially, seeing that Sam Gaviglio has an ERA of 6.75 against the Tigers. This is only over 1 start, but he allowed 3 runs in 4.0 innings. On top of that, he has allowed at least 5 runs in each of his last 2 starts. Daniel Mengden has not been quite as bad against the SSG Landers, but he still has not been good. He has a record of 1-1 against them with an ERA of 4.24. This is over 2 starts, where he has allowed 8 runs in 17.0 innings.

While both offenses have not been lights out this season, the pitchers have struggled enough to expect runs here. For that reason, the over will be the play for this game.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a 3-team parlay–which pays out at +644.
