KBO picks and predictions
Friday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.
Hanwha Eagles vs KT Wiz – Under 8 runs (-110)
The total certainly looks to be the better play because of the consistent pitching from both starters. Nick Kingham has allowed more than 1 run in just 1 of his last 5 starts. He has not faced the KT Wiz this season either, which could give him an early advantage over the first few innings.
Odrisamer Despaigne, on the other hand, has been lights out against the Eagles. Over 3 starts against Hanwha, he has allowed just 1 run in 18.0 innings. This gives him an ERA of 0.50 and he is also 3-0 when pitching against them. With 2 capable pitchers, expect offense to be hard to come by and back the under.
NC Dinos vs Kiwoom Heroes +1.5 (-140)
As it stands, the Dinos are in 7th place, but trail the Kiwoom Heroes by just 1 game. They will turn to Drew Rucinski in this game, who has easily been one of their best pitchers all season. Rucinski is 12-8 on the season and has a solid ERA of 3.01.
The win for the Heroes on Thursday puts them into solo 5th place, but they are fighting to hold off several teams chasing their spot. The Heroes will counter with Choi Won-Tae, who is 8-8 on the season and has an ERA of 4.89. Won-Tae has fared well against the Dinos, though, so backing the Heroes on the run line to keep it close looks to be a good play.
Samsung Lions -1.5 (+110) vs LG Twins
The Samsung Lions opened their series against the LG Twins on Thursday morning, beating them 7-4. The Lions plan to start David Buchanan, who is 12-4 on the season with an ERA of 2.93. The Twins will be looking for a bounce back win here, but starting Lee Woo-Chan might not give them the best chance. He is 0-1 on the season and has an ERA of 5.47.
The Lions have the clear pitching advantage for this matchup with Buchanan and there really is not any reason to fade him here. For that reason, backing the Lions on the run line looks to be the best play.
For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a 3-team parlay–which pays out at +587.
