With the KBO regular season now over a month finish, teams are starting to showcase whether they are contenders or pretenders. The league has gotten quite the coverage over the past weeks as ESPN has been broadcasting the games in the states. The partnership comes with most of the main sports leagues currently still on pause from the coronavirus. There have already been some former MLB players making their case in the KBO and their respected teams have climbed to the top of the rankings. Make sure to also check out our daily KBO Picks as we hand out free expert predictions for the top game of the day. Let’s dive into our new KBO Power Rankings below for the week of June 8th.
1. NC Dinos (23-6)
Even when we think the NC Dinos are out of the count, they turn around and continue to win consistently. After their 14-2 Saturday blowout win over the Eagles, they have bow scored 10 or more runs nine times this season.
2. LG Twins (18-11)
Even though the LG Twins did not fall in our latest KBO Power Rankings, they are on thin ice after finishing 2-4 last week. With losing yet another game to the Kiwoom Heroes, could the Twins be heading the wrong way?
3. Doosan Bears (19-10)
The Doosan Bears also do not move a spot but continue to showcase why they deserve the number two spot. After an impressive walk-off win against the Kia Tigers, The Bears are for real.
4. Kiwoom Heroes (17-13)
The Heroes are back to their winning ways. After getting embarrassed by the NC Dinos a couple of weeks ago, the Heroes have won seven of the past ten games.
5. Kia Tigers (15-15)
The Kia Tigers continue to be the most consistently average team in the league as they finished with a 3-3 week.
6. Lotte Giants (14-15)
After their recent free fall, The Lotte Giants have turned it around especially after their impressive three-game winning streak.
7. KT Wiz (10-13)
The KT Wiz continues to be the odd one out in the league as they only allowed 12 total runs against the Giants but managed to lose every one of the three-game set.
8. Samsung Lions (11-18)
It will be an uphill battle for the Lions to get back in the mix. They do have Tyler Saladino who could save their offensive power.
9. SK Wyverns (10-19)
Named the worst team in the league to start the season has quickly proved the doubters wrong. Winning eight of the past thirteen has changed this team heading forward.
10. Hanwha Eagles (7-23)
The Eagles fourteen game losing streak is quite the accomplishment.
