We are now three weeks into the KBO regular season as teams are starting to find their new spots. The league has gotten quite the coverage over the past weeks as ESPN has been broadcasting the games in the states. The partnership comes with most of the main sports leagues currently still on pause from the coronavirus.
There have already been some former MLB players making their case in the KBO and their respected teams have climbed to the top of the rankings. Make sure to also check out last week’s KBO Power Rankings to see how the rankings have changed.
1. NC Dinos (10-1)
The NC Dinos were perfect this past week. They went 6-0 and blasted a total of 18 home runs. With one of the best lineups in the league, they also have the best ERA with 3.26.
2. Kiwoom Heroes (7-5)
The Kiwoom Heroes had the opposite week compared to the NC Dinos as they only had one victory. They barely hang onto the 2nd spot after a 1-4 week.
3. LG Twins (7-4)
Talk about a comeback. The LG Twins move up a spot on the Power Rankings as they bust out six straight wins before losing to the Heroes on Sunday.
4. Doosan Bears (7-4)
The Doosan Bears also climb in the Power Rankings as they have the best offense in the league. They lead the league in runs scored and batting average .337. However, on the flip side, they also have the worst ERA with 6.24.
5. Lotte Giants (7-4)
The Lotte Giants started the season with a bang as they won five straight games. However, after finished the last weeks with a 2-4 record, they have slipped a bit especially after their loss against the Hanwha Eagles.
6. Kia Tigers (5-7)
At the moment, it is still a one-man show for the Kia Tigers as Preston Tucker practically has given the team five wins by himself. With an impressive .911 slugging percentage and having nearly half of the team’s RBIs, this slugger needs a partner and fast.
7. KT Wiz (4-7)
After getting pushed around by the NC Dinos, the Wiz got some of their momentum back, with taking a couple of games from the Samsung Lions.
8. Samsung Lions (4-8)
The Samsung Lions drop a couple of spots as they lost three games to arguably one of the worse teams in the league. After allowing 33 runs to the Wiz, let’s see how Samsung bounceback now.
9. Hanwha Eagles (5-7)
Even though the Eagles might have a solid pitching core with a 3.31 ERA. they do not have the firepower it needs to compete in this league. Having only four home runs in 12 games will not get it done.
10. SK Wyverns (1-10)
The Wyverns still hold the number ten spot for our KBO power rankings as they have lost nine straight games and hold a horrible minus 37 run differential. They will most likely stay here all season long.
