Samsung Lions run line -1.5 (-107)
- The Lions have covered the run line in two straight games
Game one of this series saw the Samsung Lions take home a comfortable win, beating the Eagles 11-4. This makes two wins in a row for the Lions and they have moved into 7th place in the KBO standings. They also are 6-4 in their last 10 games, so they are starting to play well most of the time. The Hanwha Eagles on the other hand have been a complete disaster. Clearly, in the last place, the Eagles have just 10 wins and are just 3-7 in their last 10 games. Desperate to turn things around for Hanwha will be Shi-hwan Jang, who will get the start in this game two. Jang has really struggled this season, going 1-4 with an ERA of 6.89.
He has not earned a win since May 7th and has consistently given up around 3 to 4 runs per outing. He also struggles with walking guys and is up to 23 in 32.2 innings pitched. On the other side is set to be Yoon-dong Heo for the Samsung Lions. Heo is 2-0 on the season with an ERA of 3.60. Also, note that this is his 4th ever start in the KBO, so he is still finding his feet. The most runs Heo has allowed this season is 3, so at the very least he has been able to limit the damage. That being said, this Samsung team is playing much better at the moment and I cannot back the Eagles in their current state. For that reason, I will take the Lions here
NC Dinos vs. KT Wiz under 10.5 total runs (-110)
- Three of the last four of the Dinos games have gone under 10.5 total runs
Kia Tigers vs. Lotte Giants Under 9.0 total runs (-113)
- The Under has hit in the last five of the last six outings for Lotte.
For this matchup. the Giants are sending out probably the best pitcher in the KBO. Former MLB starting pitcher Dan Straily gets the call here as he enters with a 2.10 ERA along with a 1-2 record. In the past three starts, Straily has gone past the seventh inning in all of them and recorded a total of 25 strikeouts or nearly eight strikeouts per game. In his last start, he gave up two runs on three hits while striking out 12 across eight innings. I can see another great performance from Straily here as it will be a pitching duel between him and Min Loo Wee. Expect another low scoring game on this Wednesday slate.
